TESTED: PXG 0311 GEN6 P & XP vs the Best Irons of 2023

PXG’s two 0311 GEN6 irons launched after our winter test sessions were complete, so when samples became available we put the new P and XP up against leading competitor models.

We offer insight into how much better the P & XP are compared to previous models, and show how each compares against the leading irons from Ping, Callaway, TaylorMade and Srixon.

  1. Really informative review…thank you. Just out of curiosity, how do the PXG 0311 Gen 6 XPs compare w/ the PXG 0211 XCOR2 irons? Are they both in the Game Improvement category…or are the XPs considered a Players Distance/GI mix? I don't think the 0211s are forged. 27-degree lofts…yikes 🙂

  2. Did a fitting with pxg few years ago but didn’t do enough to take the p790 out of my bag. Just did a fitting and purchased the 0311 p gen 6 on the spot. Fitting was great. Thought I would be fit in a 115-120 gram stiff shaft standard length. Ended up w 110 gram xstiff half inch longer w heavier weight in head. Go get fit ! Mizuno jpx 923 forged and p770 were my second choices. And cant believe they were softer than mizuno
