  1. Turned this right off when you put Pickett, Rankine and Papley above Weightman for the best small forward list, the sooner you guys drop this anti Bulldogs agenda, the more informed your show will seem

  2. Trapping the arm is the reason most of these head knock sling tackles are happening. No hand / arm free to brace the fall.

  3. In 3 weeks the game will look different without tackling and bumping if the elitist snobs who have never played a minute of real football continue to get their way. The afl has almost put itself in the cricket australia level of dislike from the public lately.

  4. Umpires fault. What’s Ward suppose to do? Neale stands up in the tackle and the umpire doesn’t blow his whistle to call either holding the ball or ball up. So either he takes Neale to ground or he allows Neale to get a disposal.

  5. I guarantee if he never took him to ground, the umpire would run in and blow mine for a ball up. The umpires need to be quicker on the holding the ball call

  6. Skin tight jumpers that players can't grab is why players are tackling as they are. Bring back loose-fitting jumpers and not silk.

  7. Hadn't really noticed the leg lock before… no wonder everyone thought he went limp, I would try to take all the weight out of my legs to if I though they were being looked by the tackler… otherwise, he could've suffered a serious knee/ankle injury

  8. I feel like Damo saying the GWS season isn't going well is a little harsh. They were hardly expected to make the Top 8 yet they've been reasonably competitive against top 8 sides like Adelaide, Brisbane, Carlton and Essendon. Considering how deep they've had to cut and the players they've lost, I'd give the Giants a big pass at this early stage in the season

  9. Implying that he was intentionally doing a leg lock is illustrative of why most of what Matthew Lloyd says is stupidity. All he was interested in what tackling in an effective manner to stop him disposing the ball to advantage. When you tackle in those situations, you don't have time to think about tactics, you are frenetically trying to prevent the ball carrier disposing the ball to advantage. Not one part of that tackle is malicious or uncaring but we've reached a point in AFL that we use hindsight to judge actions as if players have the ability to consider their choices like a slow motion replay. It's absurd and someone who played the game at the level he did should be ashamed at that analysis.

  10. Kane, mate, seriously, just because you wouldn't have the presence of mind or the skill to pull off that goal, doesn't mean other people don't think that way. It's okay to accept that other people are better than yourself at particular activities.
I'm betting that Charlie Cameron has played plenty of FIFA and has implemented a 1-touch goal in the AFL. I have never played football (except a few matches for my high school 30 years ago) and even I would have attempted something like that. I say that because I myself have played plenty of FIFA and I would carry that idea of a 1-touch goal with me if I played another ball sport.

I went to the park 2 weeks ago with my sister and her husband and kids, and I tried to do that exact same thing that Cameron did and I'm an unfit middle aged man, imagine what a young trained athlete can do!?

  11. Absolutely NOTHING WRONG with that tackle. Zac Merrit should not have been suspended either. I was taught to tackle that way. The Coach always said "if you are going to tackle.,make sure they stay tackled". no wonder the shelahs are taking up the game. You can't tackle or bump any more with out copping a suspension.
