The way to counter that is open your legs wide (not necessarily being in stance, just open wide) and use your weight to drag your opponent down, try it. Sweep only work when your legs are close together.
For your info, Silat Sport already study that since the new rules. Each time sweep attempt being made, the experienced fighter open up their legs and drag down, so it failed.
your book is bought, will start it on Wednesday, when it arrives! Thank you for your work (be it whichever art, judo, literature or graphics!)
Mais vous êtes capable de parlez en français ?
Let's just say that my French is far from good, but I think I can read and understand a moderately difficult book, so it is on my shopping list.
It’s a simple trip …not a sweep that Ryan uses …
you don't know what you're talking about. typical keyboard warrior.
Not to take anything away from Ryan, he's a phenomenal grappler. But that is not De Ahi Barai, not even a true sweep. More of a forced trip, but it works and that's what matters. 👍🥋
Chadi, would love your take on longevity, injuries, the idea that judo is a 'young man's sport' and how to start later in life!
essa é famosa rasteira ou passa pé que tem de novo isso tem na maioria das lutas na capoeira é chamado de banda na luta marajoara é rasteira tem nada de novo
Congratulations on your book! The "mat return" Gordon used as a standard mat return taught in folkstyle wrestling. 5 year olds in the US do it. I'm sure John Danaher and Satoshi Ishii helped Gordon, for John is strong on using aspects of wrestling and judo to be more specific to BJJ. My old sambo coach always used to say, "A great throw is less!" As it relates to fighting. Amplitude when it's not judged is meaningless when it comes to a grappling event. But there are many judo concepts that would improve fundamental wrestling.
I wish I had a weekend to teach you basic wrestling. You'd be shocked what's in the fundamental wrestling curriculum.
Hey Chadi I'm curious to know if you actually plan on acquiring a second black belt in BJJ throughout your martial arts career?
