Always enjoy Cliona and Kieran…
Let us agree that the baiting of women rugby players is shamefully nasty. But there is something about the claims made by advocates of the women's game that incites the unfair ribaldry. The continual complaints that compare and contrast the money in the men's game versus the women's game almost invites scorn. The IRFU has at long last provided some money for the women but it has incited complaints that it is very little compared to what is offered to the men. Do these people not understand why there is the disparity? The complaint that Irish women rugby layers working as professionals in England have not been selected is patently valid and shames the IRFU and the selectors.
dear cliona…there are adjectives other than 'interesting'
Sure now, we live in a world of hypocrites …

Well if they're relegated to the lower level competition at least they'll see some more interesting parts of the world, Jamaica, and Kazachstan. If they are not up to standard they're going to have to work harder. Is womens rugby going to go the way of men's rugby i.e. muscle-bound uniform behemoths. Women's soccer is an excellent example of skill and speed. Perhaps this is why 7s is more popular?
Great shout by Cliona on the skill level re the Irish Woman's Rugby Team. I wonder could the IRFU learn something from the FAI who have made considerable improvements for the woman's game
