  1. Cheerful as ever ! If the Welsh had only scored 3 more tries and hadn't been out of breath, they would have been on their way to a Triple Crown.

  2. Wales always have a poor first half in the first game of the six nations.
No team has really capitalised on it to that extent.
But hey ho, well done Ireland.
Wales will be much better in the second game.
You realise Ireland doesn't own Wales now right?
You just won a rugby match.
You don't get to be the only opinion that counts about Welsh rugby for the next year, because wales had another slow start in the six nations..for the fifteenth time in a row.

I mean you are litterally nothing to us.
Anyone would swear you get to pick the team now.

  3. People are downplaying how good Wales played. I honestly don't think they were far off winning this game. This os the first time as a South African I can say the 6 nations teams (all of them) are playing on par with the Southern Hemisphere teams. Covid really levelled things out.

  4. Gibson-Park, Furlong, Kelleher and Henshaw all injured and still thumped Wales: I remember the times when Ireland were good when all fit, but take away four starters and they looked very vulnerable.

  5. Ireland again gave a great display of how to combine quality rugby with cheating rugby. The ref Karl Dickson is a absolute cheat, not penalizing for ;
Minute 00.17 no.1 in from side (IFS)
    1.08 in behind line-out jumper
    1.23 no.12 IFS
    1.29 no. 6 IFS
    1.48 no. 1 IFS
    1.58 Doris scores
    4.30 in behind line-out jumper
    4.36 no.12 IFS
    4.51 no. 3 IFS
    5.17 no.8 IFS
    6.47 no. 12 dive in
    7.02 no. 13 dive in
    7.13 no.10 IFS
    7.17 no.5 IFS
    7.31 no.1 IFS
8.09 no.3 hands in ruck- ball passed to Ryan who scores.
Now ad the rest. Had Wales received their rightful penalties Ireland would have had less 14 points, as play would have been transfered to the half-way-line area !
In entering from the side 3 more infringements sometimes occur – diving in, not support own weight and sealing off !
Why should we not say you are a bias lot leaving all this out ?
This is why Rassie and SA are so annoyed with refs and coaches !!!

  6. Liam Williams has history of foul play. Remember his elbow to the head on Paddy Jackson after he scored a try a few years ago. I agree Porter slide was innocuous and Dan Biggar created the problem by kneeling on Porter on the ground. Awful decision to award penalty restart. Anyway luckily Wales showed their incompetence and blew the restart.

  7. From a Scot, Keenan's the best FB in the NH, if not the world atm!
The problem on Saturday was the Irish team of 2023 played the Wales team circa 2017! Same players, same old WarrenBall and Ireland have changed the way Rugby is played at the top level!

  8. Billy Burns should be brought into the squad against France. We know what Sexton can do. Give Burns at least a half against France and we probably have our Sexton replacement for after the WC even sorted.

  9. Why are you not allowed get too excited about the Hype that's coming up?…. That is the Future and the Future is only Tomorrow. Ireland is genuinely in an incredibly good place across the Provinces. The IRFU and The Four Provinces are busting their guts and Wallets and succeeding at Junior levels. So good to hear people talking about Rugby on a near Parish level .

  10. Tommy Allen’s kicking from the tee was great and kept Italy in the game. His kicking from hand was dodgy, but so was Finn Russell’s and no one’s sneering about him.

  11. Good balanced punditry from Allan on this weeks 6 nations. Well deserved 'plug' for a tremendously entertaining u20s tourney too.
