  1. I also saw the Toti incident live at the game having a perfect angle from the Steve Bull and it looked a definite penalty. Everyone around me was completely mystified (if unsurprised). Watching it back later it is still very obviously a penalty. Not a red card, just a penalty. But a clear one. No contact on the ball and a significant impact on Toti. Moreover, the ref actually goes to blow his whistle but then stops. Why? Well I can only presume he's unsure and so waiting for VAR. But then VAR is having to judge the incident on a completely different basis – that the ref's original decision was a "clear and obvious" error. Which immediately raises the bar. It's still a clear penalty, but I do get why it wasn't given. Yes Tom, talking about the pen might be sour grapes had we lost the game. The fact that it didn't change anything means there's nothing sour about it. It just highlights how this is really about bad reffing and VAR and not simply that we were obviously robbed again. And had it involved a top six side that decision undoubtedly gets overturned – no question. Frankly, this whole system has become absolutely farcical. Incidentally did you see the two pens in the CL game tonight between City and Bayern both for handball? Both soft as the proverbial! The first barely brushes an arm (doesn't deflect the ball at all), which is fairly tight to the body, back turned and completely accidental. But this is Man City and so a penalty is awarded… Simply maddening inconsistencies.

  2. Great pod guys, but you need to look up the definition of the word "reactionary". Maybe use the phrase "make a reaction.". Reactionary is a political term meaning ultra conservative. Sorry if it seems pedantic.

  3. Mark Davies – had so much potential but he wanted first team football. For those who remember the striker Robbie Blake he was asked, when being interviewed on a Under The Cosh episode, 'who was the best player you played with he said Mark Davies at Bolton' but he said liked his booze and had attitude issues, came into training some days and just could'nt be bothered other days was brilliant, Blake also mentioned that Davies had an agreement in place to sign for Chelsea but never went ahead due to long term injuries.
