It's not worth trading Trey Lance unless it helps you net one of two guys.
Aaron Rodgers or Lamar Jackson.
If they want to bring in Jackson for a one-year rental, trade Trey Lance to Baltimore, win a Super Bowl with Lamar, and then hand the keys over to Brock Purdy after that, I'm down. Eating a $32 million dollar contract is a lot better than a $60 million dollar contract with Aaron Rodgers. I'll take either, but they ain't resigning Bosa if they trade for Rodgers and the Packers don't need Trey Lance.
I think Jordan Love is gonna wind up being better than him actually. I saw something in that game against Philly. It's the same feeling that I had when I first saw Aaron Rodgers in prime-time against the Cowboys in 2007 coming in for an inured Favre.
Both QBs would have something to prove, and both QBs fit Shanahan's system well for different-reasons. Rodgers has played in it for the past 4 years, and Lamar's skill-set is tailor-made for it.
They better trade him before it's too late .
The situation is simple. Purdy’s recovering from surgery and is no guarantee to be ready week 1. Lance will have the chance to start. If he shines, roll with him. If not, Purdy should be recovered by then. Stop making this more complicated than it needs to be

This about Kyle Shanahan's attempt to pry Jimmy from the Leadership role which he had earned through Blood, Sweat and Tears in 2019…..and Kyle gave up on Jimmy BEFORE the playoffs in 2019. But the PLAYERS believed in Jimmy, as did John Lynch…The CHEMISTRY was special….Kyle F@#$ing up a wet dream….

Why would anyone trade for Trey Lance?
As a 49ers fan, I'm saying this: if they can get a day two pick for Trey Lance then they should take that.
Aside from the arm strength (I will give him that-kids got a rifle) Lance is a poor mans Tim Tebow.
These two always have a narrative. How about just keeping hold of Lance because history has shown 49ers need 3 decent qbs (at a minimum). It’s not about saving face
Keep everyone until you see how Brock is healing. Brock was amazing. Maybe a fresh start elsewhere is a good thing. A few games since high school is not going to help his trade value.
I think a team would be foolish to give them any value in return. He could be a bakup if your starting qb is injured, that’s about it.

Giving up all that draft capital to trade up for Lance is probably the single dumbest move by any team in this century. I thought the same thing when the '49ers made the trade. If he is on the market, I can't think of anything a team would give up for him. Maybe a 7th round selection to a team in need of a practice squad QB.

No QB in history drafted in the top 5 has been given less of a chance to succeed than Trey! Purdy was the last pick and a 3rd stringer until he played. These people have no idea which way is up or down.

This idea of saving face is dumb. Its not about saving face, it is about value. The 9ers are not paying much to Lance and have already paid the bulk of his cost. He has value uniquely to them as they go through 3 QBs a year the last 4 years and he is on the team and knows the offense. The only way he gets traded is if.they are offered a 2nd round and a conditional and not to save face but because of the value of that offer.

We should never have kept Jimmy when we drafted Trey and should have let Trey get a full season of reps. Jimmy did nothing for us then got hurt. Again.
Then last year if Trey still got hurt atleast coming into this year Trey and Brock both would have reps and progression… but we kept Jimmy Jittery Crappolo and then stunted Trey.
