I remember seeing him in person at queens for a morning coaching session (he may have been training for wimbledon quals or first round). I remember thinking during a practice game he has good tennis smarts but his execution just wasn't sharp enough ("what he's coach also said"). He's not naturally gifted but I believe he's definitely a late bloomer and his confidence is also building with each high level game.

Alcaraz can pass from defend to atack super easy, amazing.
The way tennis is played and scored if you're just a tiny bit better than your opponent you can win. The game is a lot more brutal than it looks. Great match.

If someone is able to change the tennis game, the view of it’s game, totally new perspective and excite tennis fans but also to convert the non-tennis audience, it’s Alcaraz. But then again only the tennis lovers can see the difference of what Alcaraz has brought onto the tennis court.
It’s fair to say whenever he plays it’s a special match whoever he plays against. Alcaraz is able to dictate the game since the last 6 months and bring it a higher level then at the beginning of 2022. And he was already better at the start of 2022 compared to 2021 where you could see some of its best traits but his level was not high enough back then. But now it’s totally different, you can see how much control he has over his matches.
It’s scaringly good. Everyone playing against Alcaraz has found it extremely difficult to execute their own game plan, because Alcaraz can hit so hard, so deep, very sharp into every corner, you need to win the ball three times, and then because if you are not far enough behind the baseline you won’t be able to return. That’s when Alcaraz can play around when to fire his favorite dropshots or not. Because you don’t know. He has so many skills up his sleeves that as an opponent you are clueless.
If he is fit for a while many grandslams will be written after his name and will make history. But time will tell and it’s too soon but he has that potential. But for now he is the most exciting tennis player on the planet and one that is hard to beat.
