As an Irish fan , any draw would be better than what we have in place for wc 23 .. having to play Scotland for a semi spot and SA for a final spot would be very doable .. guess we’ll just have to do it the hard way 😂
The 2023 RWC will be decided by three games, two QF's and one Semi Final. All the pool games, two QF's, one Semi Final, the Play Off for 3rd and 4 th Place and the Final itself are irrelevant!
Only 3 Games out of 48 to decide the outcome of the RWC 2023 need to be watched! Pathetic and Redicous! All because of Greed! 😡
Their are more competitive games in each of the URC, Six Nations, Rugby Championship, Super Rugby, European Champions Cup, Top 14 and Premiership League than in the 2023 RWC😭
If youre welsh, australian or english youre probably thinking the actual WC draw is the best draw ever. In contrast ireland's side of the draw is frighteningly strong. That said if ireland are as good as their recent record suggests then surely they should beat whoever they play?
To say anything would be better than what we have now, in group selection years out is disrespectful to the kudos of brownies. Let's hope brownies do not start selecting National Teams, Imagine how embarrassing that could be. (As a rugby supporter)
As a dad I can confirm that the Brownie should replace you as channel host! She is too cute for words! Nice spread on the bands and the "new" RWC draw!
To be honest I'd rather have France, NZ or SA, in a Q-F, rather than the Spuds!
If Ireland get to the Final relatively unscathed, they'll win it!…………But if SA break enough of their top lads, we(Scotland) will fancy our chances!
So if Big Elizabeth breaks Sexto, J.G-Pa. Kitzhof &Co. break their complete 1st choice front-row, P.S du Twat knocks out Doris, P.O'M. and Ryan, Keeno head-buts Le Roux's hip, and Mapimpi clothes-lines Hansen and/or Lowe………We might have a chance of a Q-F!
As an Ireland fan, and therefore completely and utterly unbiased, this draw seems much more "fair". Now if only the Brownies could develop a ticket sales system to replace WR's recent nightmares.
Current draw is a farce. This was much better. What’s the point of rankings if you use them so far in advance that the last 3 year’s rugby means nothing?
Considering the result will most likely be New Zealand or France in the QF (so neither is exactly preferable), I reckon Ireland need to keep Sexton in the hotel for that South Africa game, they'll rearrange his spine if he plays. if we win without him great, if we don't we play him in the Scotland game and aim to progress second
Never thought of it.. but doing it by ranking makes so much more sense. Thus was already going to be one of the most competitive rwc but doing it like this would ensure it was that way most RWC. 😊
Was in Japan for the last World Cup, but we couldn't get tickets for this one despite having 6 lads trying in the online queues. I would be very interested to see details of how tickets were dispersed.
To be fair its a moot point…the draw is the draw and what will be will be…its a shame the big guys play each other early but that also leads to complacency so some shock results may occur making the later stages interesting….England have come off with an easier draw but that is suggesting that Argentina (who are usually up for a world cup and play well) don't beat them; at the moment I don't see England winning that game :-/
Yes please, Ireland will take that new draw. My strategy for Ireland is to put a 'B' team against SA, likely to lose that game and play France in the quarters, if we put our best team out against the huge SA animals we will no doubt lose some players to injury. Playing NZ in the quarters with a depleted team is a worse option, even if we get through that one, we may possibly be missing some of our top players.
Just so much better. I think they're planning on doing the draw 18 months before the WC next time, makes total sense; 6 months would be too short notice for tickets and travel
Not sure it is perfect, no draw can be. But it definitely looks a lot more enticing, less gruesome. There is room for surprises, rest, cries and tears of course but everyone has a chance as much as they can.
Although I believe the draw should be a little closer.. 2(ish) years out after 2 campaigns of 6. Nations, rugby champs & autumn Internationals, Covid 19 infact was the biggest player here as to why the draw is squeded more than normal. There is usually a shake up in rankings of the new 4 Yr cycle even after only 1 year on from WC. But Covid disrupted the 2020 season where some countries played & others not. So they had to use 2019 WC results as rankings. You couple that with unexpected fall from grace in Wales & Eng & the drastic improved Irish & France in such a short space of time…this draw was always possible.

Much better draw
Someone's stealing the show, good job Brownie – better than the lopsided real draw
That's just proved the point, about what is wrong with world rugby !

The Brownies have nailed it! 👍🏼
I think its brilliant, Ireland leave their group banged up.
Utter farce that the draw was made when it was 🙄
I like the re-draw. However, I have one question – what is brownies? I presume you didn't call your daughter brownies?
If youre welsh, australian or english youre probably thinking the actual WC draw is the best draw ever. In contrast ireland's side of the draw is frighteningly strong. That said if ireland are as good as their recent record suggests then surely they should beat whoever they play?
Everyone knew the score and where their rankings needed to be.
Springboks or ABs will win anyway.
Perfect

The best and most wholesome rugby content 👏

Nice spread on the bands and the "new" RWC draw!
Jaysus, pool C in the redraw is rough
Next time it will adjust itself. The sad thing is it is difficult to get tickets when you want them – for the games you want.
As a Scotland fan I'd bite your hand off for that draw

Jeebus poor auld Italy in group c
Much better, Brownies get the job!

I think this should be the way they draw the cup because a lot could happen in the space of a few years in international rugby!
You still haven't answered my question
Better potential quarters, for sure.
Imagine being in a pool where the next best team is England. Ah, dreams.
When the draw is made based on current ranking, it makes so much more sense and comes out much more balanced and even.
Current draw is a farce. This was much better. What’s the point of rankings if you use them so far in advance that the last 3 year’s rugby means nothing?
Fair play, a fun and informed piece on the ridiculous @WorldRugby draw.
There are a lot of jump cuts…sus

Much rather Georgia than Ireland as a Scot. A winnable pool and a QF v England maybe. Could have made a first semi in over 30 years 😢
Yes this is bettwr
Never thought of it.. but doing it by ranking makes so much more sense.

I am now convinced the Brownies should run World rugby.
Have the Brownies any views on tackle height and head contact vis a vis red cards?
Genuinely, those pretty much are the groups we’d like to see.
The things people will do just to get Ireland past the pool stages!🙄😉
To be fair its a moot point…the draw is the draw and what will be will be…its a shame the big guys play each other early but that also leads to complacency so some shock results may occur making the later stages interesting….England have come off with an easier draw but that is suggesting that Argentina (who are usually up for a world cup and play well) don't beat them; at the moment I don't see England winning that game :-/
This is such an incredible draw, far more competitive and far less predictable. Each group game would be a true Test!
It's done leave it alone

That's how it should be done! Great draw by the brownies! World rugby could certainly learn a lot from the little girls👏
As an Irishman I’m torn. I think with your draw there would be too much expectation on us and I’d fear us collapsing under the pressure
Yep, the brownie nailed it. Management in World Rugby should be sacked.
Just so much better. I think they're planning on doing the draw 18 months before the WC next time, makes total sense; 6 months would be too short notice for tickets and travel
The redraw has attrition aplenty here, but anyways excellent job from the brownies

I don't think french would be happy opening again hosting Rwc vs my pumas
