  1. I think they should've covered Phil's gambling addiction and how that helped him sell his soul to the blood thirsty MBS and get Greg Norman out of his irrelevance.

  2. Think I think you are mistaken Jordan Spieth was only one shot behind Phil Mickelson at the Masters

  3. This happens alot more than you think.the only reason you are saying anything is because it's Phil.

  4. When Nicklaus made his charge in 86, the coverage never left him. Mickelson started his birdie binge on 12. He closed strong, but Rahm was a little too far in front, Rahm would have had to collapse a bit but he didn’t. Probably got fair coverage.

  5. Coverage is important to sponcers. The last thing on a touring pros. mind is his coverage. People who want to see Phil can watch Liv. Media outlets working for PGA events, aren't obligated to promote Liv

  6. Perhaps if he didn’t look like a “billboard for LIV” with his team uniform on he would have got more coverage..great round but he continues to show poor taste in most things –

  7. Great round by phill. But throughout he wasn’t threatening a win . If he had started the round 4 shots better off and shot 3 under the attention would of been all over him imo, just one of those things that muck can be thrown at, gotta love the internet

  8. When Nicklaus won in 86, he came from way back. It was only really halfway through the back nine that they really started to film him. More conspiracy theories.

  9. I watched all day and did not become aware of Phil’s progress to 2nd place until the end of the day. I saw some quick flashes of Phil but they were superficial scenes from my perspective. I don’t believe what Nance is saying.

  10. I think that the TV coverage for any tournament is called by the Director. Once, the Director for CBS golf was an abrasive little man named Frank Chirkinian who passed away some years back and I thought the Masters coverage was decent then, but I have no idea who the Director in the TV truck is nowadays. I do think, however, he seems to be tacitly anti-LIV.

  11. without a doubt this was done on purpose, I don't care what Jim or anyone else said. I literally brought this up to my wife at the time.. I said to her.. "They are going out of their way to not cover Phil".

  12. How much did they show of Jordan compared to Phil if its the same or similar then they is nothing to be said. if Jordan's big Sunday push was covered more then Phil's Sunday push… Well lets talk. I know we can add the age and Sunday stuff but that does go back to the credence to what Jim N. said

  13. There is still very much a war of the fans over the PGAT/LIV issue. I believe that CBS covered as little of the LIV guys as they could get away with, partly because they are biased toward the PGAT and also because if they show too much of the LIV guys they face possible backlash from their PGAT loyal fans. So all in all they'll ride the fence and pretend they aren't… it's just par for the course here in the states. But exactly what I expected.

  14. Good coverage. I was there on Sunday and I’m not gonna lie the crowd was a bit frosty to Phil. Definitely mostly PGA Tour loyalists.

  15. Phil will stay one of the people's champions regardless of what the crusty old clowns that run the pga and their fwb in the media do to him

  16. If Tiger Woods was sniffing at the top 5 or 10 during the last round of the Masters, you can bet your ass he'd've gotten major coverage. Phil being almost as popular, and playing WAY better than Tiger even though he is 5 years older than him — yes, Phil was shadow-banned. No excuse. He's an all-time great and he won the PGA just two years ago. He is defying age in the game. How does he not get serious programming consideration?

  17. Jim Nantz could have interviewed Phil after the match – so what happened to that opportunity. So much to being a friend

  18. I just got to say the coverage wasn’t the best they could’ve did way better and like you said, I’m here to watch golf don’t care where they come from as long as you’re playing golf and I like to see all the good pays not people standing around waiting to golf they could of been covering people that actually were playing

  19. I saw most of all the Masters coverage, and didn't miss any on Sunday. I kept seeing the leader board and wondering how come they aren't showing Phil? That's not perception, that's what went on. Why? Who knows! Also, not a fan of Jim Nance, never have been. Watched him forever, I'll take NBC over CBS anytime.
And, I hope you make it to Augusta some day! I got to go in 2014 for the Wednesday paractice and par 3 game. Got to see Jack, Arnie & Gary tee off for the par 3. Grat memory. And TV does not do Augusta National justice. Just beautiful!

  20. I thought the same thing as it was being played live, and I also believe that's why we didn't see more of Jordan Spieth also.

  21. Phil finished 2.5 hours ahead of the leaders and the leaders went backwards on the last 3 holes well after Phil was done – so when do you think Phil should have got more coverage – when he was 5 or 6 shots back????

  22. I’m a huge LIV fan and I watched every bit of the Masters that I could. Including the extra coverage features offered by my cable provider. I didn’t see a lot of any LIV golfer during the entire broadcast on any platform. You have 3 LIV golfers finishing in the top 4 and Brooks is really the only one that got a lot of coverage. I think there was an effort by ESPN and CBS to conceal those players and focus on the upper echelon of players on the PGA Tour. There are great players on the LIV tour and they don’t deserve the negativity being thrown at them.

  23. Jim nantz on his last day ever would never lie. Phil back-doored a t-2. They gave him as much coverage as they could. The real story was another liv golfer that failed to deliver for the first time on a Sunday in his career. Brooks was the bigger coverage. As much as everyone loves Phil, brooks still has 4 majors. You have to follow the leaders. Phil finished over an hour before the leaders.

  24. I’m just surprised they didn’t use most of the coverage on day 3 watching Rory pack his suitcases & boarding a jet ? 🤔

  25. I wonder if it was a sponsor issue aswell as from the limited cover I saw from the LIV guys, they were wearing their LIV team logos and I think only Brooks was wearing his Nike sponsor

  26. I watched it live , and Phill was hardly seen . It was like watching the NEWS not Masters .

  27. That was true and was very obvious while watching the coverage. ALL the LIV guys were given less screen time.

  28. It is my to my understanding that the Masters organization still need to lick PGA's ass for their continuous success and money as a non-PGA-affiliated major tournament. Rubbing PGA the wrong way could be detrimental to their future. As much as they claim to be neutral by allowing LIV players to join this year, they still need to be pro-PGA in the end.
