I use my 54 not my 58 and often I won't open it because often on my course has very firm/hard or very little sand. I'm flicking it out making fairly clean contact half the time.

I love that this is basically correcting all the general tips that people get and then exaggerate which causes even more problems in their bunker shots
From being a caddy more than likely I see golfers with a short back swing and trying to scoop the ball out while keeping arms straight with very little wrist movement. Short and jabby. Rarely works 😅😆

Love this! Couple of years ago I spent about 3 hours in the practice bunker and realised that open stance and open face just doesn't work for a mere mortal like me. Horrid low sclaffs off to the right. ☹ Square stance, very slightly open face and bingo! 😁 No more bunker fear! Lovely high bunker shots. These are great tips, keep it so simple and they absolutely work. 👍👍👍👍👍

How about your ball position at set up? The video camera position appears to show back of center. Or is it in center. How about various sand types or conditions as well as various lie conditions? After your years with "Parfield" you are definitely renowned as a Master with Wedges in all areas, turf or sand. A comprehensive series of Wedge play would be awesome!
Lockey Magic lives!!! These tips are great. I don’t see many teaching your closed stance technique, but I totally see the logic.. and I switched to it some time ago when I saw you do it. LOL. I also tend to think that we romanticize the feeling of accomplishing something more difficult at times so we try to go Hollywood with our golf a lot. LOL!!!

Great video Coach. Here in the SE US it's the rainy season and our bunkers are almost like a tight lie a lot of the time. Could you do a video on how to hit a good shot out of that. I am a good bunker player but I struggle with that tight-ish lie. Thanks for sharing.
