Rory McIlroy has been blasted by former agent!! He has accused the Northern Irishman of becoming a ‘mouthpiece’ for the PGA Tour.. AWKWARD!! Rory McIlroy’s former agent Chubby Chandler has criticised the Northern Irishman, accusing the four-time major champion of becoming a PGA Tour ‘mouthpiece.
Chubby chandler has managed multiple tour pros that have played in major tournament’s such as the masters, on the pga tour, liv tour. He told a paper that Rory McIlroy has been opening his mouth too much, this seems harsh!

The only thing I get from this statement is I can fully appreciate why Chubby is an ex agent.

Rory has never been a leader. He was forced into becoming a spokesperson by Tiger and the PGA.
Remember when Rory couldn't score on the first and last day of a Major? So do you really think it is a good idea to mic this guy up, especially when he is going for a grandslam?
Again, he was roped into this nonsense. Also, Ricky Fowler should join a circus because I've never seen anyone walk a tightrope like him. He will never upset the apple cart, which is why he still has sponsors coming out of his ears and performs poorly on tour, although I must say his new swing looks GREAT!!!
Traditional media outlets are not competing with social media for sponsors as it pertains to the PGA.
The PGA is again squeezing every brand dollar from their members with these on course interviews and last I checked, some guy named Phil Mickelson blasted the PGA for not compensating their players for the use of their names and faces on media campaigns while PGA commissioner Jay maintains an $14M yearly salary which includes numerous perks and private jet
Rory needs to stay out of the way and focus on chasing greatness like he once did like Rahm is currently doing.
This is insane armchair quarterbacking. Have none of these people witnessed Rory's recent actions? Actions speak louder than words. Rory don't care 'bout no money. Rory don't care what you think. Maybe, just maybe, that's why you're not his agent anymore? The concept that talking to someone essentially, on the phone, would somehow affect you hitting a shot 30 seconds later, is nonsense. There are dozens, hundreds, of live human beings, sitting on bleachers watching you, in person, with their eyes on every shot. If you can deal with that, you can walk and talk at the same time. So, talking to your caddie is good, but talking to Jim Nantz is bad somehow? Explain. I don't buy it.
I really like Rory, but let's be honest here. His short game is the issue. Mainly the putter.

Winning the Masters is an issue for Rory because of his game. End of sentence. He has entirely the wrong style to be good at Augusta. That's it. He really wants to win there (nothing wrong with that at all) but he just, lacks the putting skills to win there. They are the most convoluted greens in golf. He is 172/206 in putting this year. He's god awful with the putter. Probably why he changed it. Not sure the club is the issue. Putting is a completely different skill from every other shot in the game. He's just not good at it. Just because we like him doesn't change reality.
I would like to see just one comp where all the pro’s have microphones on them and talk through every shot basically say out loud what’s in their head, they could even put together videos of each individual pro’s entire round and stick it on YouTube with the necessary bleeps of course lol.
Only a select few can manage demands put upon them by title sponsors. Saying this Rory is not one of them. He seems subservient to Tiger, and the PGA Tour etc. Rory needs to return to the young man that was unabashed player when he was first out on tour. I agree with Chubby, you would have never seen Jack, or Tiger do this, especially at a Major event, yes it was good for TV, but not good for Rory. If I was his caddy, I would have said "Pro" we are trying to make the cut here, forget the TV promo. ⛳️⛳️⛳️

This guy is a clown. This was his idea (with Tiger). It’s what they wanted. They wanted the fans (kids especially) to be able to see the stars. It was about growing the game, remember. What a fraud
I love hearing what the players have to say, what they are thinking. However, this needs to be at the right time. I'd have no concerns with doing quick chats as the players make the turn between 9 & 10 or after they have completed their rounds. I think interviewing them whilst they are walking down the fairway in the middle of playing a hole is taking too much focus for them away from what they are doing. Let's allow them the space and give them the respect to play their best and get their thoughts on what's going on at the right time.
Stop comparing Rory to Tiger or Jack.
We are seeing the real Rory. Lots of talk. Lots of media hype about how great he is. Great players win majors. It’s been 9 years. I do think he will win another but the hype that he is the favorite at every major…

I think in a non-major it would make good entertainment . try doing it one round your-self , i would think that it would not work out , that is my 2 cents .

Haven't seen any sport doing live interview during the course of play. Other sports just mics up players. It's fine for exhibition golf but doing at a major?
Wondering if Rory actually knows what his talking about as his statement is very inconsistent. He should just shut up and play golf.
Rory is a great golfer and will be great for years to come. But even the greatest players can only give so much with law suits PGA and liv and try to golf its very difficult. But when Rory come back he will be ready to play again.
Its bonus money, so Rors is probably not too worried about it. He’s got $150M and not getting another $3M will not change his life.
Rors will not be given his time back. He is the successor to Tiger for the next person to carry the PGA torch.

I said a while back that Rory should be quite about the players of the LIV. He has won a couple of tournaments that maybe he wouldn't have won if the players from the LIV were playing against him? Now look what has happened, a number of players from the LIV not only made the cut, some of them did really well! And Phil looked great!!! He needs to apologize and get back to taking care of himself. And Thomas is putting himself in the same boat! IMHO
