  1. I'M WITH MATT about Manly's last season and Des Hassler. The Pride Round debacle messed with the heads of the whole team and buggered their team chemistry. Half the team felt their faith wasn't respected. The other half felt they couldn't rely on blokes who pulled out of the match. The psychology of that would have bubbled away in their heads for ages. Fittler sounds disrespectful to Hasler, who has done more coaching and won more than he ever will.

  2. i dunno if it was cook or clearey but the repeat bombs over and over lost us game 3. not sure why they kept running the same play

  3. Love the hammer. Miss him at the cows but Wayne’s got him firing on all cylinders. No regret, his always been awesome. So happy for him.

  4. If hynes plays origin, he has to be 6 or 7. U need someone with speed and agility at 14. Hynes would be wasted at 14. Hynes needs to be playing the entire game.

  5. I've actually had a gut full of how classless these 2 legends of the game conduct themselves. They just have arrogance seeping out of them. There's something appealing about legend former pro's speaking about life and the game at large with a bit of empathy and humility. Freddy is the top dog and Joey has too much street cred to speak about things more seriously or act genuinely vulnerable. Come on men, change your conduct a bit, I know your represneting the 85% of players who act like morons but appeal to the rest of us who consume a bit of the game and live in a working class society.

  6. Jake Trbojevic isn't a prop. Yes he makes tackles but props are in a team to run hard and make metres. He's too small for a prop

  7. i agree there shouldnt be a 3rd man in . what happens if the ball carrier lifts his knee as the 3rdman is coming in and collects him on the chin. does the ball runner get suspended or the 3rd man who is now going for a HIA .. we all know your not aloud to knee anyone but if i had to choose between having my acl done again or spending 5 weeks on the sideline for lifting my knee i know what im doing . and this is coming from a 5ft HB

  8. Talking about clubs losing their home grown talent; other sports use transfer fees or player trades.

  9. You could slot any 5/8 in the game into Luai's position and they would kill it. By comparison, Dylan Edwards is responsible for about half of Penrith's attacking opportunities. I'll take Edwards 100 times over Luai.

  10. it's not trained into the game freddy, i just watched highlights of early 2000 games and it was happening frequently during your era, it just wasn't scrutinized and players werent such babies. It's a shame NRL seems to have a hold on freddy, gus is the only one talking any sense.

  11. Its a fighting move designed to ground your opponent. Ever since dare i say Melbourne introduced fighting/wrestling styles in a effort to slow the play the ball down and had huge success doing it then the NRL did nothing about it so every team did it because if u didnt u didnt win. We had a pure free flowing entertaining as game for a while but a combination of a number of things is making the game not as fun to watch or follow anymore

  12. Des got screwed and NO Manly fan wanted him gone. And no Brad it wasnt Dessies fault any moron could see that

  13. Hip drops have been around since there has been no reward for a legs tackle and offloads become the norm. They cling onto the ball or ball carrying arm and won't slide right down

  14. People want to switch up the origin team so much, we had so many outs game 3 last year. Keep it simple, keep it the same, just bring in those big guns and we’re fine like 2 years ago. Trell, Turbo, haas, those are some massive ins. Leave it alone and it’s not like we got destroyed last year, we were 1 play away, those who lost last year will take that loss and use it this year. Experience, combinations, star players, over everything else.

  15. Don't forget about Valentine Holmes as a possible Qld fullback !

  16. Ricky Stuart in the background of Joeys try 🙂 Lebanese food is the most underrated of any cuisine.

  17. They are calling everything a hip drop now though. The warriors one a few weeks ago was the worst call

  18. Players should get loyalty discounts in the cap after 5 yrs ten percent discounts or so every year thereafter

  19. been around a long time happens more now when attackers still standing in the tackle. Shaun johnson broke his ankle has never been the same, taniela tuiaki career was ended.

  20. If a strong fullas carrien ya. Ya do lower ya wieght to pull em down. Think its when fullas almost stopped then 100 kilos down.

  21. Gallen had picked Turbo on the wing essentially because wingers are renowned for finishing tries off, not necessarily for their tackling and defensive work. Move Turbo to fullback and Tedesco can go to a wing. It’s not a good example, but we’ve never been able to get Papenhuyzen at fullback.

For back rowers, why not Shaun Lane?

  22. What a couple of wusses these guys have turned into.. you blokes have gone soft.. officials are making a joke of this game.. it’ll be as bad as watching soccer soon.. how to ruin what was a great game.. thank goodness Gus is honest about this “hip drop” BS.

  23. Coupla sydney boys wigging out about having their rosters pillaged. Welcome to being a brisbane supporter for the last 2 decades.

  24. You are off your tree Freddy, Preston was in no way intending a “hipdrop”… Watch the replay, he calls the other Bulldogs player off to attempt to rip the ball out one on one then falls off himself when he slips off the ball… Accidents happen on the field, the biggest difference in technique now is the ball steal and quickness to get to marker, it’s a different style and technique now by necessity
