In this video, I share my experience working at DD, the growth of Disc Golf in Latin America, how far we are from a pro tour stop in Mexico, and a special project that we are launching.

About a year and a half ago, I made the decision to grow the sport of Disc Golf in my country and all of Latin America. At that time, there were only three Disc Golf courses in all of Mexico, a country with a population of 135 million people, and the closest course to me was an hour and a half away. I decided to quit my job and make a career out of this project. I made a pitch video and sent it to various Disc Golf companies, and after talking to a few of them, I was offered a position at Dynamic Discs.

I currently lead the media department and coordinate the content strategy that goes along with our marketing plans. My other half of the work is to promote the growth of the sport in Latin America. Over the past year, we’ve donated 75 baskets to be installed in different regions of Mexico and Belize, donated more than 300 player packs that included hats, towels, shades, and discs, sponsored five events in Mexico and Colombia, and sponsored the first Mexican Disc Golfers playing in Mexico, providing them with the tools to get better at the sport.

The growth of Disc Golf in Latin America is evident in the increase of PDGA members, a 2.4X increase on the Mexican members compared to last year, and the increase in the number of PDGA sanctioned events, a 333% increase in 2022. Additionally, we drew the attention of local governments, public parks, and universities to invest in this new sport.

Overall, I am proud of the progress that we have made in promoting Disc Golf in Latin America, and I am excited to see what the future holds for this sport.
