Will Zalatoris – I Will Fix Your Back Pain with this 15 Minute Golf Lesson

Dear Will Zalatoris, it’s tough seeing you withdraw from The Masters this week. It’s even more frustrating that your golf swing is causing you back pain. I made this video to help you get rid of the back pain you’re experiencing in the golf swing. In this lesson, I’ve recommended 3 simple things that you can do to make your swing more body friendly. If you do these things you can get back to playing golf and dominating the PGA Tour. These keys I am sharing with you have helped me and my students to have pain-free golf swings. I know if you do these keys, your golf swing will feel stress-free too.

Have a Blessed Easter!

  1. Hope he listens but like every tour pro he has a team who "know what's best" for him. Everything you have pointed out is "back friendly." Don't know how you became such an expert but having it outlined so systematically is brilliant. Good post

  2. Ouch! My back was hurting just watching that video. Hope Zalatoris can get healthy again. He is a really talented player and should be making changes to his swing to keep playing. I also wonder if back soreness affected his short game and putting. It can be a real annoyance like a headache or toothache.

  3. Tom, you should do a raffle or some kind of promotion where one of us gets a chance to play a round of golf with you! No doubt our game would change with one round!

  4. I suffered with lower back pain and sciatica for years. The single plane swing and being relaxed helps for sure. I believe that and an inversion table is the only reason I can walk, let alone play a round! I've tried to relax my back and stop bobbing my head , see what you think.

  5. Okay will, that would be 1million dollar lesson from Tom, he just made you play longer and earn more throughout your career, geniunely want will to watch this video

  6. Hey Tom, funny you make this video about Will Z. And how his spine tilt is, causing a lot of his back pain. I think the guys at live from the masters must be listening to your channel. Brandel said the exact same thing as you about his spine tilt. Just thought you’d like to know. Thanks for all your videos, will see you soon.

  7. Hey Tom, I was taking lessons for the past 6+ months and still had lots of trouble hitting good shots. Hitting high eighties to mid 90s in a good day and 110 on bad day. Handicap at 21 and climbing.

I practiced once using your method at the range yesterday and just shot the best round in my life "40" on par 36 with 2 three putts. 6 of 9 greens in reg. Only 1 horrible shot (tilted, didn't stack). Thank you for your simple and effective lessons. I am a believer.

  8. To those new to Tom’s teaching methods I have been a regular viewer for a couple of years now and I can’t say enough how Tom’s common sense approach to the golf swing has had the most beneficial affect on my game. I like to say, Tom uses the K.I.S.S., (keep it simple stupid) principle in additional to his common sense advice. When I find my old bad habits creeping back I immediately refer to Tom’s advice to get back on track. There is nothing like feeling that crispy impact and seeing the ball hitting greens in regulation.

I have friends who are struggling to figure out how to fix their swing problems and I don’t hesitate to recommend that they watch Tom’s golf swing videos.

As Tom always says, keep it crispy.

  9. Excellent advice. I used to keep a flexed right knee also. But now let it straighten. Which gets me in a much better position for the downswing. Gets my weight in the right spot for the arms to drop correctly coming down.

  10. I am so glad you made this video.

I don't think that I'd last one year with that swing that Will Zalatoris was taught.

Looking at it makes me cringe 😬.

I haven't had any back pain from straightening my right leg (not to mention having a 4-iron into wind going 220). Let's hope Will learns from this video, or he's gonna be quitting golf in 3 years.

  11. Will would literally own the KFC corporation if you became his instructor and we’d all benefit from the crispy nuggets.

  12. I was watching the amateur Sam Bennett at the Masters and think he has the same deep side bend through impact like Will and Joaquin Niemann. Is this being taught as a way to swing a club? Crazy!

  13. Thoughts about Sam Bennett? His spine is crazy tilted at impact. I don't see anyway he keeps that up his entire career.

  14. Going to stack and tilt may save Will’s recreational golf career, but nobody is playing PGA Tour golf with stack and tilt.

  15. yes, you hit the nail on the head, there. i said he would get injured when he first came out. it, is, also, very notable how the arch in his lower back creates a reactionary lordosis of his cervical spine; which means that his eye line is above the ball. i think it may be that will is trying to get in an upright position. so, it may be that he will only change if he can find an alternative way of standing tall. the neck is the hub of the wheel; and, really a player should lower themselves into the address position by pressing back with the base of their neck. this would eliminate will's lordosis; and, stretch his spine out, also, eliminating the arch in his lower back. i have appalling posture myself; and, it is something i have to work hard on. pressing back with the base of the neck lowers a player into position; but, if a player then preses back with the base of their neck- when they have lowered themselves into position- it will raise their position. and, it may be that the best of way of standing tall, without arching the back, is for a player to raises their position; and, then lower the club to the ball by activating the muscles in the back right of their left calf- turning the knee out- and the muscles down the left side of their right leg- which, i know, sounds ridiculous.

  16. Great points, Man, you saw all good stuff these golf professionals idiots didn't see, I am 58 years hit the gym daily work on flexibility and jumping rope all you need and I am still walk and play golf anytime. Just keep human Naturally with comfortable balance that's all

  17. It's not often you get priceless, career changing advice like this. To get it for free is a billion to one shot.

  18. You are so right on. A month ago I hurt my back doing exactly the things you alluded to. I was down for a week
