RORY MCILROY | Stars Of Silver | The Open Championship

A winner of four majors before the age of 26, Rory McIlroy started his major championship journey at The 136th Open in 2007.

A young Rory arrived at Carnoustie never having competed at The Open. By the end of that championship weekend, he had announced himself as a future star.

The Northern Irishman won the Silver Medal, finishing tied for 42nd as the top Low Amateur.

From there he has become a global superstar, winning tours and majors across the globe. Even becoming the world no. 1 in 2013.

His crowning Open moment was the 2014 Open Championship at Royal Liverpool, where he beat Sergio Garcia and Rickie Fowler by two strokes.

Before then, McIlroy had already won three major championships – The 2011 U.S Open and The PGA Championship in 2012 and 2014.

Rory McIlroy is one of the most successful Open Championship Silver Medal winners in history and here we celebrate in our latest edition of ‘Stars Of Silver’.
