[Shaft Load & Unload] Tommy Fleetwood Stopper Drill

[Release Part 3/3] Can this “Training Aid” improve your release?? The best thing about the GForce Swing Trainer is if you have a poor release you will hit the ball 50 yards off to the right with it..! A poor release would be the hands and arms over accelerating, steering, forcing and manipulating the club through impact rather than letting it go naturally.

The Release is the final part of the swing (see part 1 & 2 of this series first) once you have loaded the shaft in transition down to the delivery position, we need to unload the shaft. This is down to correct sequencing and deceleration of the hands and arms, which will “Unload” the shaft causing it to kick forwards, but most of you will need some help on this part to release the club correctly, giving you maximum clubhead speed and square the face on impact.

I came up with the perfect solution for your poor release, the Tommy Fleetwood stoppers Drill, to “decelerate the hands and arms” which will unload the shaft, accelerate the clubhead and square it up at the same time.

You will hit the GForce Swing Trainer way off to the right if you have a poor release, so make sure you switch regular between swing trainer and your normal club to transfer the feelings and Ball Flight over, hit 5 shots swing trainer and then 5 shots regular club and then work down to low reps 4, 3, 2, 1…

If you are still hitting the ball to the right, you need to go back to the Step 2 “Transition” video of this series, because if you are to far “in to out” or the opposite “out to in” you need to correct that first which I show you how to do it in video Part 2 Transition which you can watch in this link.

And if you can’t connect with the ball at all or your contact is inconsistent go back to the first video in this series Step 1 “Rhythm” which you can watch here https://youtu.be/zLY-1nKQegw

If you want to go into more detail on the points I covered in this video, check out this “The Release” video link 👇
