Why is it an EPIC collapse? did nobody thought that this team is fucked after the Kyrie trade? Kyrie is great in Dallas and it seems he feels good there…ok it can be a 30 mil good feeling but nevermind.
What im trying to say is, the mavs besides having the top duo backcourt now they also have no defense. They traded their selfmade defensive anker for Kyrie. Now they need Luka and Kai to score combined 80 points at least to win a game.
But also the biggest Mavs problem is, Luka and Kai have to play with at most D-League players. The only playable player esp for the defense is Reggie Bullock. NO ONE else is capable of doing anything.
Christian Wood and Reggie Bullock are those players who can score 10+ a game. THJ the brickmaster 3000 can only throw a ball. he cannot defend or else.
Dont come with Josh Green or Hardy. Those guys are to young and probably wont play any minutes on any other Team.
Dwight Powell the worst C of all time. Got there via Rondo trade back in the day. And on any other normal team he wouldnt be a NBA player today. But here he is starting for the Dallas Mavericks and every midlevel Center is able to score 20 points against him
Why would anyone think they are a playoff team. No they are not. Luka and Kai both two of the best in the business alone isnt gonna get you a playoff run today.
I’m a blazers fan and just wanna make one small correction in that there was no scenario in which they came out of yesterday anywhere below 5th in the odds. They entered the day two games behind (ahead of) both Indiana and Washington in the wins column. They controlled their destiny for sole possession of 5th, and they still do thanks to Orlando’s win, but the worst case scenario would have been Orlando losing and a two-way tie for 5th and ~39.7% odds of a top 4 pick.
Of course that’s just for right now. There are still games to be played and they could theoretically drop down further. So maybe that was your point, but just wanted to clarify this
