  1. Mark I was in the same boat until I stumbled upon the Stan Utley videos where he talked about returning club to full length and standing tall on the finish on the left side and returning the bounce to the ground. It always sounded like hogwash but same issue, I got older and my chipping got nervy and awful. Now it is good because I never actually knew how to do it consistently. Your concept is largely the same. Less leading edge digging and more overall rotation of chest and belt buckle. Whatever feels it takes to get that to happen is the key – in your case it was no tension in the left arm. Either way, chipping crisply takes guts, which without technique is just reckless and catastrophic. Thanks for your videos.

  2. A little more complicated than it needed to be, sorry. Exit left, that’s all it is. This is what helps you rotate on a small swing.

  3. I have the same feeling with my left arm with my driver. I get it so tense, it pulls me inside and I hit big blocks. This is a really good shout to help that (as well as the chipping obviously). Love it.

  4. Is there a time and place for the old 8 iron bump and run or should this skill be kept in for that special occasion?

  5. Definitely concur , got over my woes with your videos and also some @james Ridyard material, I like the piece around compressing left side, losing height and then adding height is definitely one of the feelings that helped me along with getting a wedge with tons of bounce (not needed anymore but helped) and few other things….I think a series's on this would be magic Mark

  6. And please look into carbon fibre insoles….I don't trust anyone else to do the math …. maybe that Matt bloke but he's not sceptical enough 😂

  7. Would you say this is the same concept as having quiet hands and staying in posture throughout the chip?

  8. Weirdly fixed my chipping (to a degree) with similar feeling. I feel like my left elbow stays close to my body on follow through and my shoulder goes up and left. 😀

  9. Great video it’s exactly what I’ve been feeling & working on with all shots under 100 yds 🙌🏻

  10. I've been watching these 5 minute fixes and applying a few each time I play. I shot a 90 last week, my best score ever! Hoping to break 90 this Saturday, and if I do it'll largely be due to the information in these videos! Thanks so much!

  11. Just watched you thin that shot across the green and had a terrible flashback to something I did a couple of weeks ago from 10 yards short of the green in 2 to a 7.

  12. Love this! This is 98% the lesson I had 2 weeks ago! Made massive improvements already, follow up lesson next week so great to hear you say the same

  13. Nothing better than chipping in or to an easy tap in. Your video saved my chipping a year ago and it's still paying dividends. Thank you Mark

  14. Another awesome video. By a landslide you are the best coach on YouTube. Not trying to blow smoke but you are the only coach (and lockey!) that actually teaches technique and the why’s and makes it easy to relate and understand. Appreciate you fine gents and keep it up.

  15. It's the same as hinge and hold. Hinge the club to parallel, or less, then hold the wrists and turn. Turn turn turn turn. You won't turn enough at first and you'll see a lot of fats and thins. But TURN TURN and TURN more.
