  1. The fact that chipping/pitching will become easier with a spinier ball kills their argument, as you say they can’t have it both ways!

  2. the current specification for golf balls was adopted in 2004. in 2004 the average driver distance on tour was 287, in 2022 it was 300. 13 yard increase in 19 years. and that 13 yards was due to factors other than the ball since the ball specs have not changed. changes in course conditions, changes in clubs and most importantly change to the athleticism of the player are the driving forces behind the increase. how is changing the ball specs going affect those factors which are the main driving force ??? it wont

  3. Uh, Sir, no roll back the ball for me and I will probably quit…. I played with wound and wood and will never go back…

  4. Why can't that cap the distance at the current production standards or whatever it is called. Why try to decrease the distance? There must be some current standards for golf ball makers, obviously. They have balls that will go straight, balls that will go farther, etc. Ok, so what.

  5. Human Nature unfortunately applies to Corporations and Organizations. It's just the way it is. Organizations will only listen to certain people. Just like in every one elses circle of people. Many won't be listened to and a few will be listened to. The Organization has it's biases. Hard Headed is one way to put it.

  6. I loved the ruling on DJ when he was penalized because he moved his ball even though he did not. If there is any golfer that hasn't seen a ball move for no apparent reason, play some more golf – you will.

  7. Last comment: For some reason, they want to decrease the distance of the golf ball instead of just capping it. Someone or some group has too much influence on the rules organizations. Golf by committee.
