Denis Irwin was too good to be underrated. He wasn’t underrated when he was playing. He just wasn’t a loud player.

These pundits who don’t rate United’s players say put your medals on the table but Andy Cole , Paul Scholes and Dennis Irwin probably have more medals than them all
Wes Brown has two Champions League winners medals John O’Shea has one that’s a lot more than a lot of the pundits who talk United down but that says all you need when players who aren’t even in the conversation as our most underrated can say I have this to show for my career
Carrick is far and away the most underrated United player for me. Proper midfielder, before a lot of English football was really ready to understand what that looked like. When you go back and watch him his range of pass is breathtaking. If De Bruyne or Alexander-Arnold ever produce a ball as good as his assist to Hernandez vs Chelsea in 2013 we'll be hearing about it for the rest of time
Denis played out of natural position at left back, and the games and tackles were a lot more physical then. Id love to see how Gary , Cole would fair out on opposite wing. Utd have had some of the greatest full backs in history going back to 60s Tony Dunne for example, all quiet off the field but deadly on it real footballers first name on team sheets.His omission from hall of fame is sad but not surprising in this modern media driven age. I would stand to attention to shake his hand, what a player.

I love Scholes and he's a fantastic player but Frank Lampard was a fantastic player, I feel like people don't rate him like they should, I feel like he doesn't get the recognition and respect he deserves
Michael Carrick, and somehow, incredibly, David Beckham. Both masters of their craft.
Dennis Irwin was the best LB and RB in our Premier League history.
The things he could do was insane. 2 footed and easily so. Could take penalties free kicks, corners, man mark the crap out of the wingers and play all the way up.
His only issue was his time. Attacking full backs there was Cafu and Carlos. Defensive full backs there were Thuram and the GOAT Maldini. So people like him and Zanetti were ignored.
You two are great, but it feels kind of lonely now that you're usually the only ones on. If the old guard are all busy with new adventures, it would be nice to see some new faces.

I’d still say Carrick. I really don’t think a lot of people – including our own fans – really understood how good he was until he wasn’t there anymore.
Cole/Yorke NEVER get put in all-time teams yet their link up play around the treble season was possibly the best I’ve ever seen from 2 strikers in the EPL. So for that reason, individually and collectively, I think they’re underrated.
Nani also deserves mention: 41 goals and 71 assists in 230 games – goal contribution every other game for years – deserves more respect than it gets.
You’ve got it the wrong way round 98% of this squad is hugely overrated. First case in point is Sancho, he’s had his opportunities at United, with all the very best intentions of willing his success, the size of the dog in the fight isn’t as important as the size of fight in the dog, applies to the £325k pw Sancho, he’s a hugely over indulged talented yet mentally incompetent footballer, Talent alone isn’t enough yet he’s under the impression that good music moves cool flicks and easy goals justify below average he’s all hope with no evidence of any future promise. He needs selling, not out of indifference, but out of compassion, he should go out rebuild himself at a level that befits his mental & attitude fragility. Elite cultures require an unforgivable level of selfishness to win & fight that he and so so many of the current & recent United squads, simply don’t possess, Maguire (fake Captain) epitomises it best with his overconfident ignorance & deluded self-indulgent views on having nothing to prove. Sancho, Rashford, De Gea, Fred, DVB, Maguire, McTominey, Bruno, these aren’t winning machines, nor anything like hungry driven serial winners, they’re deluded over paid multimillionaire entitled brats without the heart or fight to be winners, the 0-7 showed the truest moment & window into the character of this squad. ( several players openly stopped many just laughably indifferent) Newcastle are about to abolish the final deluded hope, in Uniteds season, Southampton Fulham & West Ham have all outplayed them over the last few months. Once beaten by Newcastle, Brentford along with Brighton, that’s this squads levels, not the illusion of results which dramatically flatter to deceive, deluding the fans & sports media to actually see this squad as the truthfully criminally overpaid (one of the highest paid sports teams in history) underperforming & over indulged. Man United are decades away from City Arsenal & Liverpool & Chelsea squads. Next season will be worse.
When Pep is saying Scholes is the best out the Gerrard and Lampard you got to look at that , english passport is what deters the judgment . If scholes was Spanish he would of won the lot as a starting player .

Can't believe anyone can consider Scholes underrated simply because he shouldn't be. Could you imagine if anyone said Casemiro wasn't great player….or say Busquets or Xavi. I'm not sure on the stats on either of them players but feels like they get more praise these days than Iniesta even though he was the one scoring the big goals
