Is this the modern Dennis Rodman?

What would a strong defender and offensive rebounder look like today? What if they lacked shooting and scoring moves? This detailed film breakdown & scouting report explores how today’s game would change things for Rodman, and how Lakers forward Jarred Vanderbilt is a close modern analogue in style, and to some degree, impact.

  1. Crazy how previous teams gave him away. Regular people know he's something else.

  2. Is Vando on a top 5 most annoying defenders to play against?

    PG: Jrue
    SG: Marcus Smart
    SF: Dillon Brooks
    PF: Vando
    C: Steven Adams

  3. Never paid attention to Vando until the Lakers got him. This dude needs a long term contract, ive seen enough

  4. We better keep the same core for next year, Vanderbilt hustle and defense is what the Lakers need

  5. The modern day Dennis Rodman? No he isn't at all, not even close! Dennis Rodman has seasons where he averaged over 15 rebounds. He could guard from point to Shaq. Vanderbilt is a good defender, but not going to make the NBA's top 100 list like Dennis Rodman has the top 75.

  6. Rodman fits in any decade of the NBA. No matter what kind of game is played. D and Rebounding always matter. Selfless guys always matter. Teamplayer matter. It‘s as simple as this.

  7. Great vid! So many people think defense was harder back then but its not even close to as difficult as it today with the space and speed of the game

  8. Modern day Rodman? Dude has been in and out of the G league since he got drafted. When he's called up to play in the big leagues, he averages 8 rebs at best. Rodman averaged 20 rebs per game a few years. This ain't even an apples to oranges comparison.
