Following the coverage of Sam Burns WGC win it appeared that the PGA tour erased the names of LIV golfers who have won Match Play in the past…With no Ian Poulter, Bubba Watson and Dustin Johnson! The Golf Channel wiped out the names of the LIV players from their past championship winners list graphics during the live broadcast of the 2023 WGC Dell Technologies Match Play on Saturday, March 25…
Golf lover UK then proceeded to tweet their views on the situation and this is when it all got slightly out of hand and the huge backlash begun as golf enthusiasts jumped into the comments section to show their disappointment and slammed the PGA Tour.

The PGA has handled this pathetically from the beginning….attended LIV in Tucson AZ and it was amazing…I love watching PGA golf also but they are the ones driving the wedge and not LIV….love golf❤️
When you try to take the moral high ground as the "original and still the best" tour. You can't then act like a petulant child by pretending people suddenly don't exist. Love to hear Rory and Tiger's view of this list. They have been so pro the PGA but I cant believe two champions can be happy with whats been done here.
Why not strike the LIV players from ALL PGA tournament records? Every single one of the LIV players wins should be replaced with the top finishing PGA player as the winner. Strike them from history as if they never existed. Names should be removed from every trophy, every clubhouse plaque, every record book that exists.
Much ado about nothing … who really cares? I mean, we are talking about adults playing a game knocking a white ball around a grass field into a hole.

Dustin has 2 majors and over 20 victories – Bubba – 2 masters – Ian – one of the best Ryder cup players in history. All this does is show they are jealous of LIV and can a LIV PLAYER PLEASE win the MASTERS and then the putting on the GREEN JACKET will be hilarious to see! I am with LIV from day one and their coverage has made me love to watch golf again!

I have never liked how when an event changes sponsors the PGA Tour acts like the current name of the event has always been the name and the name the event used when it was played in the past never existed. I feel like this is similar, as far as the PGA Tour is concerned, that history never existed.

The LIV is a competing entity for the PGA. It’s the PGA that is blocking.
Silencing, censorship and erasure is very popular at the moment. It’s incumbent upon the remaining adults to stop the damage it’s causing.
LIV is Saudi-sponsored exhibition golf. Saudi money is paying the pros who chose to dump the PGA for convenience and money. Nothing they do on LIV contributes to their world golf performance ratings, and they're cool with that. They chose to dump their pro-golf credibility to play show golf, so I agree with the PGA to dump any credits they gave them the opportunity to earn.
Don't tell me the cancerous communistic style of cancelling people because they play golf in a different golf league, has now been injected into this sport. The person or persons responsible for this childish act should be named and shamed.

Scrolled through tens of comments and haven’t seen anyone talk about it, so I may be in the wrong here, but I could’ve sworn LIV promised lawsuits for use of their contracted players’ names or likeness in any sense. I think it’s weak on both sides, but to be sued over something as ridiculous as honoring past champions by showing their name on screen on a PGA broadcast really isn’t worth it imo. I doubt it would hold up in court, but why even go through all the trouble to begin with? Both organizations could be better, but competition is great for consumers; it forces businesses to produce the best they have to offer.
Stuff like that is why I support LIV

the PGAT is the 80's film equivalent of a group of teenagers making their way into a haunted house. Things are going just fine until they hear a noise. As a viewer you think I wouldn't go in there, don't do it. But someone goes in and gets the axe. The sport of golf is enjoying some pretty good times at the moment, yet the PGAT does something like this for no good reason. Don't do it! . . . . . Back to the 80"s our group of teenagers, minus one should leave the house, but do they? . . . . . . No, let's talk about golf ball rollback.
It really is pathetic. Golf needs to embrace new ideas and developments, not get stuck in he past and take the ball home when a new player comes along!
I would say it was a business decision but a poor one. Absolutely the major networks and the PGA Tour are worried about ratings and revenues. I believe matters will be worst next season with the limited field PGA events.

Both Liv and PGA have been petulant children.
Not the first time they have done this. They left out Cam Smith during the live coverage of The Players. The commentators tried extremely hard to avoid talking about the 2022 championships, pretended like it didn't happen.
All right, anyone that is still defending the PGA as if it isn't run by complete lunatics have lost their mind. If they are this petty on screen imagine how bad it really is.
I'm don't know if the PGA had anything to do with this or not or if it was a network decision. Either way, the decision to exclude was theirs. It doesn't change history in any way. For whatever reason they didn't want to acknowledge those who left the Tour. If you don't like what they did, simply stop supporting them by whatever means you do.

Who says it was the PGA? I doubt it very much. Personally though, I’ve no interest in the Liv tour which is the view of all my golf buddies. Liv to me is a brand of women’s road bikes.
It seems like nothing but childish acts by the PGA. Unfortunately, the world and every position of power are run by such childish (adult-lescent) individuals. This should come as no surprise to anyone. This automatic behavior for people of such ledger.
