  1. Thanks Mr. Alex! I was struggling with my transition last time out. Super simple application. Can’t wait to see my results on Saturday…
    Jon Rahm 😊

  2. even before you mentioned tennis, I was remembering that in tennis, I was taught that the transition from backswing to swing, was not a stop and start, it was actually making a loop. so in the case of my drive, my clubhead comes back and instead of stopping, it loops slightly downward as it changes direction. so I need to be starting to open my hips as that loop occurs, to transition into the downswing.

  3. Recently I’ve been trying to have only one swing thought and it’s one word “there” I say it to myself when my backswing feels shoulder height as a weight shift switch, plus it stops me thinking don’t slice don’t slice 😁.

  4. Thanks Alex..I feel like I'm struggling with my transition so this video will definitely help me👍
Masters win = The Aussie Cameron Smith 😁👍

  5. I was about to compare it to EVERY OTHER SPORT, right before you mentioned tennis. That scary little white ball makes people scared to move. Once people figure out how to be dynamic they will hit the ball miles further, with what seems like no effort. Baseball fields would be much smaller, if the hitters only used their arms.

  6. Thanks Alex…I have been working on this with my pro…doing a pause at the top before shifting the hips…you just gave me another few drills.

  7. My god Alex, I have never seen anyone else on YouTube explain the transition of the golf swing as simplistically as you have just done. That was great, top draw Alex 👏 👏👏

  8. Excellent lesson Alex! This might be your best one yet IMO. I have been working on transition this winter to help get some of that “effortless” speed and distance that you produce with your swing. One difficulty I have is if I do the hip bump before completing the backswing I never quite complete my backswing and the club stops well short of parallel. I get it… I need more reps to help make that happen, but that’s my current struggle.

I also notice you tend to keep your lead leg relatively soft throughout your downswing, and it never really straightens until the ball is long gone and you are coming to your finish. Would it be too simplistic to ask you to produce a lesson video on use of the left leg in the downswing and through-swing? I always hear the term “hit into a firm left side,” and I seem to get better hip turn and clubhead speed when I straighten my left leg through impact. But at 62 years old I’m concerned about eventual wear and damage to my left hip if I swing too aggressively that way. Your swing looks like it would be very easy on the body for a very long time. Thanks for your consideration!

  9. I wouldn’t mind seeing Tyrell Hatton win the Masters. I like him a lot. He’s a great putter, which could suit him well at Augusta, but I’m not sure his temperament is a good fit for it. Time will tell. I have been rooting for Rickie Fowler for a long time. Definitely would like to see him win any of the majors. He seems to be coming back in form, but maybe not ready to win a major just yet

  10. Another great lesson Alex. I'm reworking my swing this winter as I massively over swing and your lessons have got my ball striking so much more consistent. Thank you.

  11. Alex… again, loving the fresh content. Nice to see your tips are aligned with my approach (rare). Agree on the hip bump before reaching the top of the back swing. What I find happens to me is that when I "open" the hips, I can handcuff myself by having my trail hip move into the ball. After the shift, I have to focus on "fixing" the trail hip and driving the lead hip back and away from the ball. This helps keep me in the shot and creates plenty of room for the hands to come through… do I have this right or am I missing something? stay well!

  12. Or better yet, keep wt on lead leg, head and body centered and forget timing sequence and "jagged" motion with inconsistent chunks and thin shots that shifting wt between lead and trail leg causes

  13. I watched the video about rotating the wrist for a strong grip, tried it and an immediate difference. Just watched the transition and gave it a go in the garden. Inspirational. It naturally let's you shallow the club without making jerky disjointed movements. Thanks Alex 👍

  14. Wow! Just tried this at the range, so effortless and takes all the swing thoughts out! 😮
Makes your hands and wrists softer and creates so much more speed!

    Best tip I’ve seen 🎉

  15. Hi Alex, thanks for this tip. I think that we'll have a repeat winner at the Masters, Scottie Scheffler is my bet.

  16. Alex,
Been following you faithfully for a while now and have dramatically improved my golf game (handicap 10 to 7). A recent lesson on keeping the lead ear behind the ball has been especially helpful. I watch other instruction from time to time but your approach is simpler and more achievable. Thank you. I am starting “Project 73”, my attempt to shoot my age this year. Wish me luck!
