  1. First! Lovely tip – will give that a go. Feels like you go in to the ball with stored energy

  2. Johnathan needs to be on the Golf Channel with his knowledge of the swing, excellent lesson.

Btw, concentrating on accelerating after impact gives you much better control of the shot IMO. Often I've done the quick pull down with the hands and it leads to all sorts of inconsistencies with my ball flight, typically pulls.

  3. I discover that with a slow start and then a smooth downswing start, this whoosh effect and distance is amazing, with the sensation to swing like Ernie😂 and what a distance gain !

  4. hi johnathan , long term subscriber !- brilliant channel, just wondering what launch monitor are you using in this video ? i was looking to get a reliable launch monitor for my golf net, however unsure as to which is best i.e. garmin etc? – any suggestions much appreciated, thanks

  5. But how do you get faster post impact? My biggest miss trying to apply all the speed at impact which make me get flippy

  6. Good video. Bradley Hughes (GolfAus) talks a lot about this. There is also a clip of Tiger giving a clinic where he talks about his intent being to make the fastest part of his swing after the ball. When he says that, the crowd laughs, thinking he's joking. Tiger responds "no, I'm serious".

  7. Been watching tons of golf related videos on YouTube, urs & a very very few others have significant impact on really improving my swing & ball striking skill. And I usually never leave comments (good or bad :). Thank you. You are worth watching.

  8. I want to gain distance, but when I swing faster, I tend to get steep. I struggle to shallow the club with any speed.

  9. It also makes sense that if you "know" you are looking for speed at and after impact, it could help us with our rotation and approach to impact? Like you mention, it is the perception that makes this work, along with actually swinging faster, but with control. Great video. Watching your stuff has helped me so much! I dropped 7 shots this past weekend and it was purely by striking the ball flush and keeping it in the fairway and towards the green! Thanks again.

  10. It feels like you made this video for me, so thanks! Will give it a go in my first round of the year this week.

  11. This is also great for sequencing, getting through the ball, and strike(especially if you’re hitting it fat).

  12. This one tip transformed my game today and I've been playing since I was 14 in 1971. Effortlessly took 2 shots off at virtually every hole even though the course was exceedingly boggy due to all the recent, relentless rain. 6s and 7s turned into 4s and 5s, hole after hole on par 71, slope 133 course. An amazing experience. If only someone had told me this years ago. Thanks a million

  13. I seem to be someone who cannot generate much club head speed, but I am going to give this " feeling " a try…will this work for my driver too….thank you

  14. I look a inch ana half ahead of the ball as my spot without looking at the ball. This gives you a real solid strike and proper divot

  15. loving these videos. I've just put a net in the back garden. Which launch monitor are you using to track ball and distances.

  16. The ball is already gone after impact, so who cares what you do after impact…

  17. First time watching your channel this morning. I'm a 11 handicap and the reason I can't get lower is distance. My driver is like 220 average and I have to use hybrids or woods into most greens. Tried this today on the range and was hitting 240-265. Thank you so much. And you have another subscriber. 😁

  18. I have separate question about setup . I see you and others set up away from the ball then reach out to the ball. What’s the rationale behind that? I ask mainly for driver because my miss is on the heal and i wonder if that setup will help. Reaching for the ball a bit more .

  19. Absolute truth here. As mentioned Bradley Hughes ( Golf Aus) has some really detailed stuff about post impact effect on ball speed and flight.
The concept of there being a delay is a good one, I think of it as this.. if you are going faster after contact you have accelerated through the ball.
A mass ( clubhead) under acceleration is much more stable and less likely to twist.
    Again – Physics 1 : Complex swing thoughts 0.
