I know this SOUNDS crazy but i think that TAYLORMADE GOLF Have got themselves into a HUGE MESS… Rory Mcilroy Has been spotted testing another NEW golf club that isn’t Taylormade and this can’t been good for the brand?
So this year 2023 has brought in a NEW driver for taylormade in the shape of the Taylormade Stealth 2 and the likes for Tiger Woods has been loving it BUT unfortunately another one of their flagship players Rory hasn’t had the same good fortune with it I went to that new driver in Riviera, and it’s just not…Look, I wish I could use my driver from last year, but I can’t just because of – you use a driver for so long, and it starts to get a little too – basically it just wouldn’t pass the test,” RORY SAID!
there are also more changes this week with image all over twitter using a NEW scotty cameron Putter to match the one he used to win his first 2 majors! Could this be the change which helps Rory win the Masters & Complete thee carer grand slaM?

Thoughts on this? I think Rory has made the CORRECT DECISION…
why is taking 100m from TM ok but other guys taking 100m from the LIV tour not ok
Rory blaming his putter 😂😂😂😂.
This aged well 😂
I believe there is an older gentleman on the Taylormade staff … name escapes for the moment … named after some kind of animal. As I recall, he has a wee bit of success but been banged up as of late. Plays mostly TM clubs through the bag but has a special affinity for his Scotty Cameron putter – rumored to be the most valuable club in the world. Taylormade doesn't seem to have any issues with this older gentleman repping their equipment. Perhaps Rory just needs to win another major or two. I suspect Taylormade wouldn't care if he putted with the Billy Barro putter from Caddy Shack.
Hey flew the green and made eagle lol I think he is fine I think these YouTube fools jump ship to make videos jus like everyone else to make a video to get views on stuff others have posted.
Id say its good for both player and brand. Player gets to use what they feel most confident in, the brand gets to look like they respect the player and their game.
Best golfer I ever played with played the game simply (and I had never heard of his chipper and putter brand)
He said/advised master consistency
Only chip if you need to get over something, nothing wrong with using a 7 iron to stroke/guide the ball to the green
If you do need to chip, aim for the middle of the green, its the biggest target with the biggest margin for error
When you've got big sponsorship money to earn back, what do you need? Sales
People who change their clubs all the time, it's an emperors new clothes philosophy
New Technology boasted about means the clubs are always tweaked, meaning you have a new club to learn/master (see the golfers advice above)
Jack of all clubs, master of none
Not a good sign for Taylor Made.
I’d say Rory is staying with Taylormade especially after today. 350 yard carry on 18 is pretty ridiculous.
No chance a stealth two goes in my bag. My upgrade this year is going to be a paradym or a ping G430. And if Rory can crack the top 100 putters he’ll be winning a lot more tourneys.
Mallet putters offer better performance on off centered hits compared to a blade. Wedge change makes the most sense to me.
Does this under TaylorMade? No. Are they worried? Absolutely. Rory is a feel player. I would personally refit Rory into the clubs he has last year. He did well with them so let him do that.
Rory is a head case. Every other player hits the stealth club great. Rory,s problem is he cant putt. Scotty ,Ping whatever he wins if he putts decent .
Personally I feel it's the opposite a Blade putter requires way more technique and a mallet offers far more forgiveness. Have you ever compared a Scotty Newport to a Scotty Phantom? The Phantom is loads easier to hit consistently its such a massive difference you have to be so on point with a blade, there is no room for error
Same with Nelly Korda she probably got millions too but she doesn’t play as well as she did with her Titleist golf bag.
Just as an afterthought has anyone noticed Justin Rose has gone back to an M2 driver. Think I’ll start a rumour that carbon faced clubs deteriorate after a few months of impact.
Did anyone see his drive on 18 at Austin CC yesterday? Looks like his current driver is fine.
It's a good thing that TM have got him locked down on the driver because I think he'd be using a TSR right now. The amount of Titleist drivers used by the non contracted players, really shows how its hands down the best driver right now.
Rory needs to do whats best got his game he wants to be world No1 and Taylormade wont get and keep him there. He doesnt need the money so go as a free agent.
Rory is a CANCER to golf and society. Everything WOKE turns to SH!T.
Not really a problem when ESPN just highlighted Scheffler and Rory hitting 440 and 380 yard bombs in their match play wins
I think your regurgitating what we already know.
His drive yesterday on 18 was insane! Shorter driver apparently doesn't hurt distance lol. 349 carry 381 overall. And, within 6' of the par 4 379 yard 18th hole at the WGC.
Spiders are great, hes just in his own head feeling the pressure
Millions from Taylormade is not the same as receiving millions from a murderous regime who just recently allowed women to drive. Seriously.
Rory wanted to protect the PGA! He didn’t really care about players making all the money they could make. He knew those guys leaving the PGA tour would diminish the tour! LIV sucks for so many reasons!
Mizuno putters are where is at.
what is the length of Rory's new driver shaft?
A good tradesman should never blame his tools
For the people that can’t wrap their head around the difference of liv basically poaching top players from the pga with big money and Rory getting paid by a sponsor is crazy to me. Just sound like a bunch of haters, Rory is one of the best in the world and that was a lifetime of dedication to the game. He deserves every bit of sponsorship money he gets.
Many years ago before Rory signed up for TM, he endorsed Titleist equipment .
At the pinnacle of the game, the margins between players in so small that the slightest change can have a massive effect on a player’s performance, something most club golfers would have no appreciation of. As such, I think Rory has every right to choose what goes in his bag and if that means taylormade ay him a bit less, I’m sure he won’t mind. As regards the effect for Taylormade, whether Rory plays with the latest model or last years model would make no difference to the driver I buy, it will come down to what works best for my swing.
Drives 18th hole 375 yards in match play event with TM stealth 2 driver yesterday, what player doesn’t change things up to find form. Not a big deal.
I think Rory is doing the right thing by having more freedom regarding what clubs to play, just like Scheffler who is also contracted to play TaylorMade but he plays Srixon utility irons, Titleist wedges and a Scotty Cameron putter.
I had TM but went to Srixon,, with TM I always felt I had to work the club harder, and felt tinny , clunky. I chose the Srixon over the Mizuno's as well for the feel ,, felt I needed less effort.
Bad for the brand. Some contacts allow players to use other brand if the brand does have a club that meets the player's needs. Example Titleist Vokey T grind wedge. Look at how many your players have that wedge. No other brand has anything close.
C'mon, get real. The clubs aren't what makes a winner. Never have been. Never will be. TaylorMade is right up there in at least the top 5 club manufacturers so they can make any kind of club Rory wants. Think about it. If it were really true that the clubs make a difference, wouldn't all the pros being playing the BEST CLUB out there? The manufacturers want to sell clubs to the golfing public so they believe if they shell out millions to a top player, the average bozo will think if so and so plays THAT CLUB, it must be the best so I'll buy them for myself and I'll be a better golfer. Same stupid logic all over again. If TaylorMade really pays Rory $100M, he owes them to promote all of their products 24/7 without exception. They are paying this kid over $3000 a day, if the contract is for one year. Do you think maybe Rory could step up and show a bit of appreciation? As for Cameron putters…they are so over-rated, it's pathetic. You are paying for the name. Most golfers should know that unless they are able to hit a 1/4" sweet spot on the Newport, it's probably not their best choice. The way to buy a putter is to go try out about 50 or 100 of them at a big box store. I will bet the average golfer will find one that just seems to work better than the rest. That's the putter they should buy and it doesn't matter who makes it.
I think this may be good for TM as maybe rory will be able to bring in his thoughts on what other brands do better in those clubs that maybe taylormade can implement in newer models that can improve their clubs
He was under contract already. All he has done is got them to re-write that contract to allow him to keep playing for them. Legal wording escapes me. Otherwise both sides having to payout more to the lawyers for canceling the contract and so forth.
