CRAZY In Depth NEW PXG IRON Fitting – INSANE DETAIL!!!

CRAZY In Depth NEW PXG IRON Fitting – INSANE DETAIL!!! With the launch of the new PXG Gen6 irons I travelled down to the drift fitting centre the home of PXG UK. In this video I get fitted for the new PXG irons and I can’t believe the depth that the PXG fitters go into to make sure you get the best possible fit for your golf game. are the new pxg gen6 irons the best irons of 2023? are they the most forgiving irons of 2023? maybe they Are the best budget irons of 2023 with the new range of cheaper golf clubs? well in this video I go through the most in depth club fitting ever to answer all of the above… let’s do it… and let’s do it now!

  1. Went to a PXG fitting last year with me brother and dad who both ended up in their clubs (different models) was very impressive from start to finish, and the clubs are great.

  2. These irons look solid. I never hit any PXG clubs, im pretty much a Titleist guy. Now have T100s's in the bag and they're the best irons i've ever played.

  3. dunno….. $500 for a wedge? Pass. it does seem PXG is bringing in all the YT players recently. TXG was there – avg golfer – James – etc… now they all talking how great pxg is. Nothing personal I just can't get behind a company that sells a driver 1 day for $600 then tomorrow its $149

  4. Been fitted by Jack and then Brendan a couple of times
Always been impressed by the quality of the fit
Last time I was told to wait for the next gen to come out as I wasn't gaining anything….which I thought was great advice and not just selling clubs

  5. New fitting! Can we have a top 5 for say distance, playability / feel, looks and price. For irons, all drivers, wedges and putters.

  6. It's nice to see the differences in fitting process from manufacturer to manufacturer, and I don't know about you Robbo, but I could go for a fitting every other week at a different company and never get tired of hitting new stuff.

  7. Interesting fitting process and not surprised how those few variables can alter the spin and distance so much. Goes to show that fittings for new clubs are always best instead of grabbing something off the rack.

  8. So good to see reviews and content where there's no claims of crazy distances with a 7 iron and more talk about consistency, feel and control.

If more reviewers talked about a solid 165 7 iron I might not see as many people swinging out of their shoes at the range, top notch!

  9. Good video James. I like seeing the club fitters doing their thing.

  10. I like watching fittings with people who really know their golf swing and what they want. You get to see the fitters really doing great work. Can’t wait to see you test these on the course.

  11. Once he fitted you for a 7 iron was that used for all clubs or did he check 5 and 9 as well?

  12. James, great video. I have a full bag of PXG irons and woods and just last week went for a putter fitting. Brilliant experience. PXG's customer service is second to none.

Given that your decent angle was around 47 to 49 degrees, was spinning around 5,500 rpm really an issue?

Will Gen6 be going in the bag for you?

  13. My fitting with PXG was quite similar to this only there was no fancy machine to check my swing weight. I was also fitted for the Gen5 0311 T model and am surprised they no longer make that with Gen6.

  14. PXG has great irons but there's just too much offset in the T and P irons, especially in the long irons. If their P offering had minimal offset like P790 or MP225, they'd really have something.

  15. When a Tuber says "I'm going to stop talking now" or " I'm going to stop interrupting you" then two secs later talks non stop 😂😂😂

  16. Wow James that’s a heavy swing weight most steel shafted irons come of the shelf D2 or less. You really like to feel a heavy head. That is why you can really dial in with the PXG irons. I game gen4 0311 P irons and like D2. Recently got fitted by Brandon at the drift for a driver and he nailed the fitting. The new driver has improved my launch gaining 10-15 yards. Highly recommend this venue and the knowledge Brandon brings to the fitting.

  17. Getting tired 16, 17, 18 has everything to do with carrying the 25lbs bag for 3-4 hours, not swinging half of a swing weight heavier hahah

  18. great video….amazing how many ways the club can be tweeked … nicely done James…cheers from Canada

  19. When you asked the fitter if half a swing weight affects much, half a swing weight point is nothing and doesn't really impact performance at all if components aren't being changed out. I think the only reason it had an effect for you was you knew that change was made. Most custom club companies have a swing weight tolerance of 1 point when building clubs because they have to use tungsten powder as opposed to a weight or lead tape and there is not a difference that has been noticed from testing.

  20. This is stupid because it’s not like you’ll actually use these clubs, you never do.

  21. For the love of whatever god you choose, please stop using the term "insane"…. Nothing shocking and definitely not insane.

  22. PXG has really nice stuff but the resale and trade in value is absolutely trash. I sold some old PXG irons for $200. Meanwhile my 13 year old pings sold for $600.

  23. Spin seemed way too low. Your probably getting the same spin with your Mizuno 5 iron compared to that 7i. He did his best to dial you in but that’s why only looking at carry and total distance can be deceiving.

  24. Problem with PXG at the moment, is that every shaft in their irons, apart from the stock Elevate Tour, is a £40/50 upgrade per iron. Also golf pride grips are £12 per iron. So your looking at £270 per iron potentially. Mizuno offer pretty much every shaft and grip included in the list price. Cally, Titleist, TM all offer numerous shafts without uncharge.
So PXG need to address that, especially when you consider their GEN 4,5 &6 irons look almost identical.

  25. I’ve watched your videos of you testing irons that you were rewarded instantly with better feedback. I’d say those won’t be in your bag long. Just saying.

  26. Let's be real. 2 grams is in no way going to affect you by the end of the round. 😂. Golfers are so finicky it's ridiculous.
