  1. Confidence is 90% of the battle and what separates winners from driving range pros. I’ve always said you need that “Moe Norman mentality”, he knew he was going to hit it solid and when he didn’t he basically pretended like it never happened or just brushed it off. Of course golf takes thousands of hours to get good and you never really stop working to improve, but as far as scoring and winning tournaments, it’s largely a head game because at that point, we’ve all put in the hours and know every position and can hit every shot, but doing it consistently and when the pressures on takes confidence and a strong mental drive that can’t be taught. At the same time you need to almost be on auto pilot, like driving for miles perfectly but never really paying attention, your body knows what to do from the hours of practice so your head needs to get out of the way. In many tournaments I’ve won or course records I’ve shot, I almost don’t remember hitting half the shots, I was very much at ease and on auto pilot but also had a desire to annihilate the competition rather than letting nerves of what bad thing could happen get in the way. Every shot is all or nothing, total commitment, 100% or 0%. ⛳️🧙‍♂️💭
