After making many improvements to the swing over the past few months, Ian works with Scott to improve clubhead speed while retaining accuracy.

I was wondering if this technique would help with my right knee soreness after three days in a row of practice?
Excellent stuff, I’ve been following Scott instruction to Ian with good effect. Recently struggle with an excessively in-out path of around 7*. Felt like I wasn’t turning the corner. Will give this a go along, less so about finding speed and more so about getting correct sequence.
Swing is looking the best ive seen it Ian. You can tell how much you're getting that weight into the lead foot and then pushing off, which looks like it is triggering the club to come down onto the ball in sequence and with force. The swing looks very powerful!
Ian looks fit as a fiddle!
what is your ideal path for a 7 iron Ian?
VERY, VERY eye opening. Hence, having your center mass (i.e. rib cage) go faster than your arms. This is achieved, as Hogan would say, from the bottom-up…. by proper lower body (from knees down) power truster to right-side to the left/lead side as you rotate. Moreover, such a move allow the hitter to use the ground far more efficient in achieving speed. Outstanding stuff!
You should’ve got with your golf coach to know the camera angles you needed to show us the pressure points and all the other goodies
If there’s more speed added into Gavin’s swing, does that change the shaft he should be using on all his clubs ?
Can you guys redo the video from 1:50 to 4:00 minutes on the critical aspects of the swing change I think we missed all of it
Too complicated.
Man.. too much to think about.. I like the "see ball, hit ball" swing thoughts.. there were a lot of technical thoughts and terms in this.. can't get onboard with all this.. but it works for Ian obviously.. swing looks great
One thing I'm noticing on my own swing journey — the more I use the lower body the more I notice pain in my left-side of my left knee (righty) when pushing off (e.g., harder to kneel afterwards); never had any joint pain prior to this.
The different connection points of the lead arm to the chest on the back swing vs down swing is definitely an eye opener.
Great work Ian, that is the best that I have ever seen you swing👍👍
The swing is looking pure Ian, you can definitely notice the changes you are working on
Best looking swing for Ian since the start of the channel 👏🏻
I normally love everything about golf, but this is way too technical for me. I feel like this type of coaching would work for the better player, but would be too much for an average golfer. Great to see Ian’s hard work is paying off.
What are all these patterns?
Incredible lesson! 👌🏻
The swing is looking really good, so compact, looks effortless.
Looks very similar to ABS – John Erickson – well done gents
Definitely striping it Ian. The swing looks amazing. Great job. Scott is awesome.
What shafts in the irons?
Ian's swing is dialed. Videos over lol
Mark crossfields been talking about this before covid.
Great stuff! Btw, Ian, what shaft did you end up in your new i230 with your current speed and recent changes?
The explanation of the left leg with the clock and pill bottle was 🤯. Amazing analogy.
That's a massive improvement Ian m8 , I've noticed your backswing with this new swing has definitely got more momentum, impact looks brilliant, nice one bud 🏌️♂️⛳️👍
Matthew – I very very much appreciate the clock CG. you're the best
I don’t have full use of my left foot. I have a drop foot. Is there other ways to get power without the left foot?
That clock imagine was such a nice touch. Well played lads.
Scott's talking about pressure and how to feel it in the swing – would love to see Ian and Matt's pressure trace on force plates to see what's the difference between them.
Always wonder what the ppl that teach/coach handicaps are.
Gold insights from Scott. Pay attention!
I’m a righty golfer, and have a left drop foot, meaning I only have 10% power in my left foot. Balance etc. is very challenging on the left side. I’m not sure how I can do any of this left foot stuff. suggestions
Padraig has a great tip on "braking" and this really fills in the mechanics, wish I could get a few lessons from Scott
More speed, more speed, more speed the Captain yelled as he was heading for the rocks. All the First Mate wanted was a straight line down the middle of the channel so he could sail another day.
This is the best I’ve ever seen Ian hit it. Looks great.
Ian your follow through looks so much better; scott can get a bit technical for my simple brain but progress looks great
great series! Scott must be a scientist in his spare time.
what loft 7i was Ian using?
I've been working on this exact thing for the past month – using the lead leg instead of the trail foot to generate core speed. I've absolutely gained speed and reduced early extension. I also use Rory's split hand drill a lot to really nail the sequencing. The swing is looking fantastic Ian. Glad the work is paying off.
nice stuff!
