DRASTIC Golf Ball Change Shakes Golf World- Equipment Expert Reacts, Debates

Matt Adams, one of the foremost leading experts in golf equipment and technology, reacts to the announcement from the R&A and USGA that changes will be made to the golf ball technology allowed for non-recreational golfers. The change would greatly reduce distance.

  1. The solution is a distance and spin combination for the ball that fits within a range. More distance requires more spin. Less distance requires less spin.

  2. Athletes in all sports have gotten stronger & faster. Glad these cats aren't in charge of the Olympics or the NFL. They'd have sprinters & wide receivers running in weighted army boots. It will go down as the dumbest sports move of the century. 🤣

  3. What bothers me, is the fact that for years now especially in the game of golf technology has improved the game, inall its history. The days of hickory shaft, featheries, etc. etc. are long past us now. The hue and cry to real in the golf ball, drivers, graphite shafts, and anything else that improves overall performance is very shortsighted. What I believe they need to do is let technology to carry the game forward, just like it has over the last 80 years or so, allowing us to see players like Nicklaus, Tiger, Arnie along with the others who have played at the highest level. Look at the stroke average over the years up till now, and I think the stroke average has remained fairly static. I believe what they are doing is wrong sighted. Also what they need to do is have the rough, and the grooming of the course they play week to week, much like it was at Arnies tournament this year. Who really cares if they are hitting shorter clubs into par fives, fours, and threes. Weather, course set-up mitigates a lot of carry distant from a scoring point of view. I find this move a detriment to what has been a great interest in the game of golf from a spectators point of view. If anything put in a few more hazards on courses where the elite players play to throttle back distance. You do not have to make courses longer to check long hitters, you need to present them with more challenging layouts. Where they want to go with these new proposals will hurt viewership, and participation in this great game.⛳️⛳️⛳️

  4. This reminds me of when soccer took over little league baseball so everyone could play exactly the same !!
What happens to “ more effort more result”
So let’s kill everyone’s drive to excel.
    #ThanksBryson 😂jkjk

  5. Acushnet statements should be ignored….they have a massive conflict of interest….they have created the problem!

  6. Matt your comments supporting Acushnet are disappointing…i couldn't care less about hearing Acushnet propaganda…they are 101% ONLY about their profits.

  7. Any argument including long drive pros is ludicrous…..that is all they do! and their equipment would not be conforming for a normal pro event

  8. Don’t stop the progress of people’s being stronger and equipment better.

You do not have to make course longer.

Let the grass grow, don’t have perfect sand in the bunkers.

    Harder greens .

    You will be fine.

    Stop this overreaction, overthinking.

The USGA and R&A just want to be relevant.

Nobody cares about their crying while they keep collecting their millions.

    Just stop😂

  9. we live in a different world than we did 20 years ago, keep your tradition bullying argument nonsense. golf is at all time high with popularity and they want to miss around with crap like this. i hope enough people stand up and tell these hacks to go pound sand

  10. The ball going 5% shorter in pro golf really isn’t a big deal, personally I’ll enjoy seeing the pro’s challenges more, wedges into par 4’s and 7 irons into par 5’s all the time is boring
