  1. When I was 18-20, I was lucky enough to work at the best bike shop in the world — Ottawa Bikeway, run by Ian Brown. I had a nice bike. But, loved the great bikes that the company sold. I was always envious of middle-aged guys coming in and buying the fancy stuff. Did they really need it? Well, years have passed, and I can answer the question now… ABSOLUTELY YES. :^) Be passionate about what you do, and do it on the best bikes you can. At the same time, don't let having "not the best bike" keep you from getting out there.

  2. Lots of car talk on the show nowadays. Shall we call it Global Car Network (insert smiley emoji here)

  3. My first road bike is an entry-level Raleigh. I still use it for the past 12 years and is now below my ability but I stick with it as an understatement.

  4. owns a really nice bike with bling wheels. but I love when someone with good legs comes along on a plain boring bike, and the bling bling bikes can't be there.😂

  5. All my equipment it secondhand and upgraded. It's cosmetically showing its age, with paint chips, exposed cables etc but my bikes are my pride and joy. The smile on my face when I roll round the countryside says everything.

  6. Caption Competition: Tadej Pogacar is seen here trying to convince sponsors that he can win even on a slow bike.

  7. I am new to cycling (in my 3rd year). I'm 52 and my first bike was a carrera. Yes it was very cheap and heavy but I loved it. It got me out and into cycling. Last year I traded up to a gravel bike which cost well over £1000. To many on here that would still be classed as a cheap bike. But for me it was expensive and I absolutely love it. Its bright yellow specialized diverge recommended to me by a friend who has very expensive bikes. What I'm trying to say is what is classed cheap to some is expensive to others. My new bike is my pride and joy and it is kept in my spare room on a trainer so I get to ride it during these winter months. Can't wait for the nicer weather so I can get out and ride what is to me my expensive bike 😊. I love you guys and bu watching GCN it has taught me alot about cycling x

  8. Whilst at school in the mid eighties my dream bike was a 1984 Raleigh Road Ace. It still pains me all these years later to remember how a lad a few years above me had one for going to school on and to the chippy at lunchtime where it could be seen abandoned in a precarious manner. What a #%/? Not that I was jealous…much 🤣

  9. In many cases bikes are optimised to be most efficient at speeds not reached by their owners

  10. Caption: You've all heard of the dance move called the Dab. Here is the newest move called the Pog!

  11. Can we have a GCN video of Conor machining a 500g pot of yoghurt, please?

  12. Oddly enough, my frame is oversized (54), but I have a 35mm stem to get a good fit with the seat adjusted forward as well and I don't find it twitchy at all even when down on the aero bars. And I'm 64.

  13. Just buy the best bike you can afford…if you want to; and don’t give a flying 🎉🎉🎉🎉 what anyone thinks!

  14. Sometimes as this show Si is a bit off microphone and sounds slightly echoed. Great show but can be some annoyance once noticed for full engagement enjoyment.
