WAYNE ROONEY – SIR ALEX FERGUSON – MANCHESTER UTD – ENGLAND – ROD THORNLEY

In today’s video we have Rod Thornley.
Rod spent 19 years as Manchester United’s first team sports masseur and 15 years as the England sports massage therapist. He has treated some of the biggest players in world football, including: Cristiano Ronaldo, Wayne Rooney, David Beckham, Steven Gerrard, John Terry, Frank Lampard and many more. He has also worked under big name managers too: Sir Alex Ferguson, Jose Mourinho, Louis Van Gaal, Roy Hodgson, Fabio Capello and Sven-Goran Eriksson, to name a few.

Rod was also best friends with Wayne Rooney for 20 years and discloses how Rooney was pivotal in uniting the England team. He also discusses how Wayne Rooney made a big error when making contact with Sir Alex Ferguson, as well as which manager totally upset the team when he came in ruling with an iron fist.

Having worked with both players, he also gives his opinion on the long term debate of who he thought was the better player: Lampard or Gerrard.

Fore Four 2 Podcast is a podcast hosted by ex professional footballer John Mcginlay and Liam Harrison From GolfMates.

  1. Great interview – so much goes on at a club that you don't realise – players make family sacrifices for millions but those behind the scenes make similar without the rich rewards. That said as a fan of a club we'd all die to be in his position

  2. I started off getting sound then went out of the app to do something else and when I returned I got no sound..?

  3. Brilliant and the best 1 yet thanks to you all. I used to watch Rod for Alty, very fast and a great finisher, many said he would have made the lower leagues if he was not at United.

  4. great viewing again , keep them coming , already looking forward to the next player , plus great game of golf before

  5. Really enjoyable. Loved it, although a Liverpool supporter. Always enjoy hearing behind the scenes stories. I was expecting the Rooney Granny story to come out at one point but i guess Rod and Wayne wouldn't stay mates for much longer. 🤣🤣🤣
    Good video chaps.

  6. Interesting selection of interviewees almost spoilt by Liam's total lack of preparation and learning disability🤣

  7. Love to know what Danny Welbeck thought about playing 'Snow Black' in Thornley's unconsciously racist panto. Still, better than getting put in a washing machine I suppose.
    Happy memories.

  8. Great episode, enjoying series. ( Liam , Beckham is spelt wrong in your title , u put Beckam, only let you know as it might make a difference in the algorithm to sending more views your way 👍)

  9. As a red and following our horror story, this really cheered me up. An excellent episode, apart from Leearm pronunciation issues 😀. Really interesting for all football lovers. Great stuff I’ve shared extensively

  10. Dithering Dave Moyes was a bad manager at Everton he was tactically poor in the FA cup final against Chelsea when he never counted the attack of Chelsea down the Everton right wing Also Neville his pet and Howard the goal keeper who cost united the match against Mourinho when he parried a free kick Yes a bad manager and he would have the players wading through the cold rivers of Austria pre season What a foolish manager

  11. Supported Utd since 82 myself used to go alot.
    ONE❤️1UTD
Bryan Robson Keane Kanchelkis Cantona Van Nisteroy Cole Stapleton Whiteside Ronaldo Sparky Hughes ❤️ Rooney my favourite Utd players ever.

  12. Good to see you fixed the audio on this as it was a podcast I really wanted to see, I've met Rod a couple of times as I used to go to United games a couple of times a season and his personality is so infectious not sure if he'll remember me but I was so impressed by him and his stories were hilarious. Well done John and Liam getting Rod on as he's a top man and he could make a fortune on the after dinner scene with the stories he's got.

  13. Very good this one chaps, cracking fella.
Id never call alex Ferguson Sir, not ever.
And how narcissistic wanting to be called that, respect is earned and not given
