Golf club gapping is discussed in virtually every fitting at 2nd Swing. Understanding how far each club in the bag goes is essential to playing good golf and shooting low scores. Kate Smith, a pro golfer on the Epson Tour, knows this all too well. She has recently discovered an area in her bag where the golf club gapping could be better — so she stopped by 2nd Swing for a golf club gapping session.
In this video, Kate Smith and 2nd Swing’s Drew Mahowald conduct a golf club gapping session around the top of her bag to see what improvements could be made to her golf clubs.

We see a lot of old fairways and old driving irons in pro bags. Scheffler's Srixons, for example. This suggests to me that it's difficult to find clubs in this range that work well.
8:18 Kate may have come in to focus on her 4-iron, but the very first thing that I saw as a problem was the 3-wood. She averaged only 76 feet in height with it, and it carries only 10 more yards than her 3-hybrid. Too bad you did not check out a 5 or 4-wood, but I bet she would improve her carry over her current 3-wood. I think she just needs more loft than her 3-wood gives her. As you summarized, she could use a 7-wood or her 3-hybrid (depending on conditions), and replace the 4-iron with the 510 utility. But do try to see if she could do better replacing her current 3-wood with something giving her more height – improving her carry, and giving her a long option to attack greens.
