  1. I've never been more pleased with a major champion. What a story, what a fairytale! 52 years old, losing multiple ranking finals, only got his card back in 2021 and now UK Open champion beating MvG, in a decider no less. Dreams really come true and it shows that the darting world is no longer dominated by a couple of players, lots of majors are wide open, I expect to see a lot more surprising winners in the near future. Thumbs up for Goldinger, he is the most surprising major champion in the PDC I've ever seen and he deserves it so much, has been playing fantastic for a long period of times and is finally rewarded big time! 👍🏆

  2. UK open is a major title if a poster boy wins it but if someone like gilding wins its mickey mouse.

  3. It would be bizarre if Gilding didn't make the Matchplay because I recall he sneaked into it last year without the benefit of winning the UK Open.

  4. Interesting point with Rob Cross leap frogging Humphries means he is now in pole position for the England spot in the world cup, with no major prize money up for grabs between now and then and Humphries defending a lot Euro Tour money it is surely Crosses to lose now

  5. I think the majors are already too top heavy.

If you win the UK and then do nothing you don't deserve the Matchplay or Grand Prix

  6. With respect to you sir , where’s the champagne 🥂 champagne 🍾 strippers , drugs , you should be still rolling out of that late night nightclub , Greatest tip of 2023 , I’ve put you forward for Pdc performance of the year 2023 😱🥳🙈🍻

  7. U dont have new gilding Photo? Because that old shirt looks now shitty compared to new

  8. Gary played really good against Wade Huybrechts and Dimitri unlucky against Dimitri with those mist doubles in the last 2 legs

  9. I wonder if that lost world final did something to mvg mental. Normally wouldn't say that I am worried for MvG but that UK open final lose is his second lost major final this year. And once again he ran out of steam.

  10. Real shame about Petersen , from a euro tour winner and one leg away from a major final to being outside the top 64

  11. Burnet atm after the worlds on 63rd so is sure but with a WC and PCF place he would be more sure of that

  12. Shock? Who could have, at any point, have even been a candidate to win except for the man with the golden thumb?

  13. No disrespect to Ryan Searle, he's a very good player but just the fact he's above James Wade on the world rankings in mental considering Wade plays most events & does relatively well in most of them unlike the likes of Gary Anderson & Adrian Lewis who have been semi-retired for the past 3 years.

  14. Up until this major the best result for Czech darts was Sedláček getting top 16 at PC Finals. This semifinal by Gawlas is huge not only for him but for darts as a whole in CZ.

  15. Surely the Open is a tougher event to win than the Masters. Gilding doesn’t get seen for 9 months but Dobey gets prem league.

  16. It’s worth pointing out – Andrew Gilding now has a net zero ranking money to defend for the rest of this year (The £7000 he technically has to defend you can instantly cancel out with the minimum of £7500 he’ll get for making the Worlds)

So any ranking money he collects is purely going to move him up the rankings

And in the next couple of months – the only event he’s missing is ET2 – Huge opportunity to move up further

And don’t forget @Matthew Edgar – Gilding is definitely in the Grand Slam as well 😉

  17. @Matthew Edgar – I’m actually quite surprised you didn’t do a video about Gerwyn Price falling out of the top 16 in the 1 year Pro Tour OoM (And the consequences of that)

  18. It’s just like any other darts match someone wins and someone loses. It hasn’t changed the world.

  19. Absolutely hate the fact that the uk open only has 110k winners money. For me, it's my favourite event of the year and probably the hardest to win with the amount of players and the open draw. I would like to see 4 majors like golf and the rest tv events. Uk open, match play, world champs and maybe grand prix or grand slam? These have the big money and the others have substantial prize money but not as high

  20. Matty, the other story is that Luke Littler confirmed what we all thought, that he can play with the best on the biggest stages. Likewise Thomas Banks.

  21. What a great tournament. Gilding vs Gawlas in the semifinals and gilding winning the whole thing, just mental. Also Burnett doing Burnett things😂

  22. How far is Richie Burnett from keeping his tour card? And how does he qualify for worlds, top 32 or top 64 quality through pro tour order of merit?

  23. I wouldn't like to play Gilding for a nandos . He's a very very good player and if he keeps feeling comfortable then he will do very well , he never got anywhere near his A game at Minehead. I backed Dolan to beat him and Dolan bottled it from 8-5 but well played Andrew, now kick on and earn more money
