Golfers don’t have the chance of death each time they go golfing. They can often compete for longer. UFC fights are limited. Even in a long career you’re definitely done by later 30s.
Still getting paid from sponsors though..

Billiards is like this. You pay a session fee, then you pay every week if you shoot that week, then if you do good you go to a tournament for a chance to play in an even bigger tournament, if you win you go to whatever city the tournament is in but if you don't make like top 16 in the finals you win nothing. Basically gambling at that point. If you shoot in leagues all your life and only ever win one big tournament, you're still losing money. At least the trip is paid for.

Yeah but golfers don’t pay tax on there winnings, fighters do. PGA is labeled a charitable organization so it’s tax exempt. So it’s a risk but the pay out is 100% yours
Golfers also have a huge entry fee.
