I am Tom Saguto, PGA Member and founder of SagutoGolf. Thank you for visiting my instructional page where you can find how to get on the fast track to improving your golfing abilities. Whether you are a seasoned golfing veteran looking for a quick swing tune-up after an on-course emergency, or a beginner just looking to get the most out of your golfing experience, I am here to help you achieve your golfing goals.

My mission as your swing doctor is simple, to help you maximize your enjoyment in game of golf. Because, let’s face it, golf is a hard game.

My philosophy is wholly based on the student having a fun, meaningful experience in a frustrating and complicated game where potential lifelong golfers either quit because it is too difficult or that they experience some form of swing-related pain or discomfort. I mitigate these problems by focusing entirely on the student’s needs and goals while teaching a golf swing method that ultimately takes stress off of the common pain areas of the swing.

  1. As much as I try to stay forward and down, I struggle hitting the ground. Most swings Whig above the turf

  2. i have been working on a couple of things over the winter. what i have come up with is this.
at address, weight left, right knee locked in a straight position. at the top of the swing left shoulder, left knee pointed down at the ball. in order to point the left knee at the ball the left heel has to come up off the ground which in turn allows my hips to turn. at the top of swing i feel like i am leaning left into the shot, then i simply let my weight fall to the left and turn through the shot.

added at least 10 yards to each of my irons and 20 yards to my driver.

thank you for the insights into the swing

  3. Another great lesson. I especially like the feeling of 'quiet and nothing' in the hands and club face. Just love Rahm's short backswing – thanks for analyzing it.

  4. You make it look SO easy! I love your divot direction seen on those down the line shots! Mine go embarrasingly way too far left. AND at 6:40 (down the line shot) I really like how after impact your clubhead appears before your left elbow! (I stopped video and did frame advance (with period key) to see this). https://youtu.be/z1_FfD-Ol8w?t=400

  5. My,my, my.
I feel this entire video is what I need and that you made it just for me😮.
    I lack consistency.
I will say that when everything works the way it should,I hit the ball better than I ever had. Crispy and clean.
In 50+ years of playing golf and lesson and 100’s of videos, no one has ever told me I have to take a divot in order to be successful. Tom did. That and other things have made me better.
When I hit the ball and everything is working, there is nothing in golf that can replace the feeling or the result.
    I learn every day.
I hit the ball better because of Toms YouTube and online course.

  6. Just wondering when you said weight forward can the weight be on the ball of your feet almost like on your toes or just more of a lean on the left foot

  7. As always simple straightforward powerful advice. Quick question do you offer in-person lessons???

  8. I’ve been using your lessons for a while but this a great reminder of all the most important aspects. The “glue” and right elbow is something I usually don’t remember until the 4th hole after a couple of pull hooks. Need to watch this BEFORE my round!

  9. Generally enjoy your content but the constant self-congratulating for "saucy, crispy" ball-striking is a bit much anymore. Just saying.

  10. My swing is getting so much better ever since I started watching your videos (I also decided to tune some others out)

  11. This is an honest opinion, I do not have any affiliation with Saguto nor am I a bot. If this program doesn't change your game for the better, then you are already a tour pro. The swing concepts learned through TS are the only fundamentals that matter. How many lessons have you gone to where the teacher wasn't quite sure how to fix your swing? It's because the teacher has no real foundational functionality to their understanding of a consistent swing. Saguto Golf provides the foundation for which we have all been searching. It's that simple.

  12. This is the master course. I aim for these keys and went down to a 10hcp from 16 last season. My friends all say I have that weird swing with a short backswing but hey I’m hitting it crispy and dead straight every time.

  13. Brilliant tips again Tom, I always learn something useful from your videos. Quick question though, I assume this one was filmed after Rahm’s first round of the Arnold Palmer and not days 2-4? 😅

  14. I just started using your target technique that you introduced a couple weeks ago by pushing your arms out instead of pulling them in on the follow through. All of a sudden I am finding that sweet spot consistently.

  15. These videos have helped my iron game tremendously… However, I am having trouble translating this to my driver.

  16. Love, love glue it keep it. Love glue just don’t sniff it, but stiff it…bye the way look at rahms left foot when he’s extended…toes of his left foot are off the ground.

  17. I have been using your approach for 2 weeks and my golf game has signifcantly improved. Thank You I am 10 strokes better, consistent ball striking.

  18. My contact is feeling pretty good right now, just have a slight pull and/or hook miss; very rarely (if ever) miss right, so can eliminate one side of the course. Just want to tighten up dispersion and add a little efficiency

  19. All good advice. Also, people should try those jumbo max grips… they really are good, you can just relax your hands on them.

  20. Im glueing it like you, because of Ben Hogan and it made me way better when I started. The only thing i still gotta figure out is what i need to do in a tournament when im weak on one day. I cant really glue the arms then and the golf gets very difficult again. Any ideas?

  21. Since I dove into the s&t method, my ball striking has been amazing. It took me about 2yrs to get used to it and trust it but the work is paying off.

  22. Since following these techniques I am feeling much more confident over the ball and my ball striking has improved. I played the other day and I have NEVER in my life driven the ball like I did that day. I hit every fairway except one and they were all pure contact and long. Tom's teaching is simple and it works. Enjoying the game again.

  23. Tom, I enjoy your vids and I am pleasantly surprised that I actually learn things I can apply to my swing. Two tips, that I should have known, that have truly changed my game: left shoulder angled down to the ball during backswing and weight somewhat on the lead leg. Just never clicked until now. Thank you!

  24. You can also try slowing down your backswing…. helps to keep you from swaying off the ball, then accelerate through. With the weight forward you can get very constant contact. My backswing is very short, and my distance is not as good as other players, I just club up and pound those fairways… KFC baby.

  25. Tom is the best! He is so good at KISS. He Keeps It Simple Stupid. He is so effective at distilling the complexities of golf into solid, core fundamentals. He has helped me immensely. Unlike many instructors on YouTube, Tom doesn’t overwhelm you with details and technicalities.

  26. I have been watching your video's for a few months and my game is better and more consistent. I love the focus on keeping the swing simple. Every pro I've taken lessons from has way too many swing thoughts and motions. It became impossible to remember them all. I am never going to be a tour pro, but I want to hit consistently enough to enjoy golf. I get that from your videos.

  27. Been watching you now for almost two yrs , I'm 72 yrs old , out drive 90% of the people I play with , I've adopted pretty much everything you teach, tilt , elbows , weight forward , went from a 10 handicap to a 7 , thank you

  28. Definitely improved my contact, Tom, – the left shoulder down to the ground drill is helping me stay more centred and stopped my sway to the right which I’ve had for years although a habit of lifetime is hard to eliminate totally, so still WIP but definite improvement, so thanks for that – how does this relate to Driver, please ? thanks, Ken.

  29. Dr Saguto you have helped me so much – especially in the bending left knee and straight left arm back – keeping the elbows close a la Hogan – I’m hitting most fairways – but I still struggle with hitting ball with divots. I will work on this video but please keep lecturing the divot secrets! Howard in Guadalajara
