Dude was an absolute stud at ND, a school that has had 8 TEs drafted since 2011. Mayer was legitimately better than all 8 of those other guys in college.
You know who else had suboptimal measurables at the NFL combine? Rob Gronkowski and Travis Kelce. I think there’s something about TEs where the intangibles and football IQ are much more important than pure athleticism.
I see him potentially being on the same level of Jason Witten or Greg Olson level player.
Johnston didn’t participate in a lot of the drills because it can only hurt his draft stock per his agent
We can say all we want about how athletic profiles, but if you played the game then you'd know there is track speed and game speed. There are also players who just understand the game better, and better "football players" than other athletes.

Jayden Reed and Marvin Mims are going to be steals if they slide past the first half of the second round. Those two will make this draft class look better looking back.
Remember Mike Mamula? People keep overlooking being a football player. Addison is a football player who excelled at Pitt when everyone knew he was the target. Open receivers don’t need to battle for the ball.

JSN wr1 and its not close
JSN excels at excellent routes, making tough catches, and getting big yards after the catch.
He can be a productive starter his rookie year just like Olave & Wilson who trained in the same stable.
JSN can be more than just a slot
JSN is going to show everyone & remind err body what everyone seems to forget

Loved most of this video and I love listening to you guys, but comparing JSN to Amon-ra St. Brown is just ridiculous. JSN is much higher level prospect and will out produce ARSB from the bounce. ARSB was a fourth round pick two years ago, if he was such a productive and promising player coming into the draft he would’ve went higher. Also if you want to project a ceiling for JSN it better be Cooper Kupp
