Ye shouldn't really compare MMA to the Slap League. There's skill involved in MMA. I'd argue there's more skill in MMA than boxing due to the variety of techniques involved. From someone who doesn't follow any of these sports and really and does not like Andrew Tate! 😅

From a purely societal point of view what exactly do the people who call for these bans thing is going to happen if they ban violent sports ? People will just commit they're violence outside of it, yes not all of them will but a not insignificant number of them…Best for everyone if people are allowed to do that in a regulated ,safe as possible environment with mutual consent
I'm an MMA fan who understands that people fighting in a cage is obviously not for everyone, and also may in fact disgust some people. Having said that the idea that MMA and it's fighters should be banned or shunned, whilst boxing and it's fighters are simultaneously celebrated is (I'm going to say it!) an uneducated opinion. The simple fact is that boxing is more brutal than MMA.
In the 35 years or so that MMA has been around, there has not been a single death or serious injury in a major (even in the not so major ones) televised promotion. By comparison, I can name 20+ boxers that have either died, or been permanently brain damaged on live tv during that same timeframe.
So while I think banning combat sports is stupid, I can at least respect the opinion that they all should be banned. On the other hand there is no justification beyond personal preference to decry the brutality of MMA, whilst celebrating as Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano box the head off one another for 10 rounds. That is simply blind hypocrisy.
The bigger gloves and the longer period of time make Boxing way more harmful over a pro’s career than mma.
Enormous fan and huge supporter of the show and all involved but the UFC chat today was (very rare for OTB) uneducated and ill informed. Personal opinion based on social media clips passing judgement on a very complex sport. Bring an expert on to discuss/debate if you want to condemn an entire discipline.

As an MMA fan, amongst other sports, this was a stark reminder as to why you always get your content from proper MMA journalists who cover and understand the sport (and it's issues!). Never the mainstream. I get the sport isn't for everyone but this segment was complete waffle.
They'll come on and demand Croke Park opens its doors for Katie Taylor to punch the head off another woman for an hour in a sport where every icon develops early dementia, parkinsons ,(insert degenerative brain illness here) but throw a few kicks into the mix and the credibility of MMA is suddenly reduced to the barbaric plaything of an eccentric billionaire??.
