Hat Yai is famous for cheap clothing and Hat Yai Plaza Market is a great place to grab some bargains. The area is open from about 9:00am to 5:00pm daily, but many shops close in the afternoon. You’ll find Hat Yai Plaza Market near the clock tower just north of the city between Montri 1 and Montri 2 Roads. It’s about a 15 minute walk from the CBD. The shops at Hat Yai Plaza are mainly retailers, but some are wholesalers with a minimum of 3 or 6 items. It isn’t very touristy market but it’s a great place for cheap shopping or to buy gifts for friends! There are hundreds of shops under one roof and 3 floors of shops there. You’ll find all sorts of items at Hat Yai Plaza: men’s, women’s & children’s wear, denim & jeans, blouses, dresses & shirts, t-shirts, bras and underwear, baby clothes and everything else you might need for your infant (cots, prams & toys), traditional Thai and Asian design clothes, surf & skate wear, sportswear, lingerie, Disney and superheroes clothes, sweaters & jackets, shoes, jewelry, watches & clocks, travelware, electrical goods, souvenirs, CDs & DVDs, pharmacies, hair salons and fabrics and textiles. And if you’re hungry you’ll find Thai street food vendors and lots of restaurants in the area too. Hat Yai Plaza has it all!
