  1. Once upon a time, Magnus Midtbø, the Norwegian professional rock climber, found himself in a peculiar situation. He was on dry land, in fact, he was in the middle of a bustling city, but there was a wall in front of him that was calling his name.

Magnus had climbed many walls in his life, but this one was different. It was tall, imposing, and had a strange aura about it. Magnus could feel the wall's energy pulsing through his veins, and he knew that he had to climb it.

As he started to ascend, a man approached him. The man was dressed in a captain's uniform, complete with a hat and a golden anchor emblem on his lapel.

"Hey, what are you doing climbing that wall?" the captain asked.

Magnus looked down at him and replied, "I have to climb it. It's calling to me."

The captain chuckled and said, "Well, I may not know much about climbing walls, but I do know a thing or two about ships. And let me tell you, climbing a wall is a lot like sailing a ship."

Magnus was intrigued, so he stopped climbing and listened to the captain.

"You see," the captain continued, "when you're climbing a wall, you have to navigate your way up it. You have to find the right handholds and footholds to get to the top. And it's the same with a ship. You have to navigate through the ocean, find the right currents and winds to get to your destination."

Magnus nodded in agreement, understanding the captain's analogy.

"But there's one more thing," the captain said. "When you're climbing a wall, you have to trust in yourself and your abilities. You have to know that you can make it to the top. And it's the same with sailing a ship. You have to trust in your crew and your own abilities to get to your destination safely."

Magnus smiled, feeling a newfound appreciation for the captain's wisdom.

With the captain's words echoing in his mind, Magnus continued to climb the wall, finding his way to the top with ease. As he looked down at the captain, who was now a tiny speck below him, he couldn't help but laugh at the absurdity of the situation.

Here he was, a world-renowned climber, scaling a wall in the middle of a city, while a ship captain watched him from below. It was a profound and funny moment, one that Magnus would never forget.

  2. lol these old dudes are soft. Study Five Bellies would all be V9 at most on the Tension Board

  3. I laughed so hard when Jerry said to Ben to downgrade Adam's route to a 6c. The chemistry between all of them was amazing.

  4. I’ve been watching the channel for a couple of years and this is possibly the best episode I’ve watched. Fantastic seeing the old footage and perspectives from living legends and then Adam Ondra taking on the routes. Amazing stuff! I also didn’t know the origin of the Moon board.

  5. I feel like this video represented a changing of the guard in climbing. The legends of my generation handing over to the legends of this, and maybe future generations

  6. I really smile watching these videos. It's the respect and camaraderie, it's so heart warming and reminds me it can be great to be human. Adam's smile and the enthusiasm in his voice is so endearing.

  7. so beautiful to see ben and jerry so psyched for the these young guys,, they still have such an amazing spark of life and enthusiasm for climbing that is way more impressive than any grade!!

  8. just wanted to add an after thought.. magnus' click bait "who's the best climber ever" hahaha obviously no one even gave a sh3t.. they are all the BEST!!!

  9. Man back then they really had it harder. No gyms, less routes, worse equipment (if any), less public support and it was (as they said in the video) so hard to live off the sport.

  10. Perhaps worth mentioning what you meant by best, if you meant competition climbing for example (since comps were mentioned here) surely its Janja Garnbret? I am sure you meant best by completion of the hardest outdoor routes, but still its sad that she never gets mentioned in these conversations with all she has achieved. Even so it was a really lovely video.

  11. The fact that most of the viewers (including myself) would have to project these routes for months to top it says it all ^^ and these guys just having a fun day 😛

  12. Wonderful! Oh, I enjoyed it so much! And to see you flashing study five bellies was so fun! I would love to see you in a world cup as a masked climber revealing his face when receiving the trophy 🏆 😉

  13. Amazing video!! I am such an Adam fan and it was cool meeting Ben and Jerry! They have a great sense of humour

  14. Absolutely loved this. Couldn't stop smiling and laughing with you guys. Remember! "Pull hard and put everything you've got into it" 😁 Wise words from a mastermind.

  15. 19:29 it's so funny to realize, after climbing on the Moon Board for so many years, that despite sounding glib, Jerry's tip of "pull really hard, give it everything" is actually a useful tip for this type of climbing.

  16. Loved this! The filmography, combination of old footage, the banter. Amazing!

  17. God the Father bless you with FAITH and his Holy Ghost through Jesus Christ almighty our lord and saviour (the one true God)!
