HIGH HANDICAP DRIVER FITTING

This was my experience at a Callaway Paradym fitting event at my local golf store. I’m going in with a 2-3 year driver in the bag and looking forward to seeing what a brand new driver can do for me.

We went through this before with the taylormade stealth last year, so we already knew what to expect. Because this was a branded fitting event, we will only be testing out Callaway equipment and getting best fit into their clubs. But it is free and a great way to get on a launch monitor in front of a professional fitter to get into something new. A normal, unbranded fitting is typically free WITH the purchase of the equipment. The fitter from today was fantastic. He did not come off as a salesman during the process. He genuinely wanted to get me into the equipment that’s best suited for me. So big thanks to him for letting me film and dealing with all my questions.

  1. Audio sounds good! You can tell the non-narrated video is farther away but that is expected. Good wireless microphone might help.

  2. What's your angle of attack? It looks a bit down to me where it should be up. That will reduce spin considerably. With 150-55 ball speeds and a 5 degree up angle of attack you will be carrying 250+.

  3. Always interesting, but will drop the fitter. Your shoulders are so wide open to target line no wonder you slice or hook it out of the park. Sort out your setup, and you will be utterly surprised. Then go back and refit.

  4. Looks like you keep a lot of weight forward during your swing. Without a good turn and weight transfer, you’re basically just hitting with your arms. Might be something to look into.

  5. I think you would benefit more from one or two good swing lessons from a reputable coach. Lots going on here; closed hips, too much weight forward, stance too wide, shoulders closed, swinging arms only. Find a decent coach and the majority of your swing issues will be in the rear view. Thanks for sharing

  6. Good video! I went for a driving fitting and was good for the stats, then been having lessons from pga pro that made a difference, I think you would benefit from a lesson you look real stiff, trying to play the ball so far forward, feet way to far apart! Use your knees and hips more! It will come my friend
