  1. Very little power is generated by any type of ground forces (x, y or z)…way too much hype over them.

  2. This is great stuff! Also heard of "standing/spinning on a plate" to eliminate swinging OTT. This matches up nicely – the feeling of pushing back foot "forward" with shear force will allow a nice full turn in the backswing. Makes perfect sense and we can see the difference in the incorrect "up/down" movement

  3. Thanks for sharing, I have been wondering about your view on ground forces! Love your ideas that are beneficial to the golf swing!

In my view I see efficiency of the swing results in knowing where and how to generate momentum for a balanced center of gravity, while exerting forces against the ground with the legs and feet. The legs move slightly vertically in my swing (we differ on this, but it’s more a feeling I have), while the feet create friction to push in opposite direction, against each to leverage the ground to turn the body as you show. Newton’s 3rd law of motion explains it best: For every action (force), there is an equal or opposite reaction.

I have always felt the need for speed in my swing and believe the feet help me achieve a balanced angular acceleration, or optimal swing velocity.

As you recently replied to me which I agree “Trying to hit 10 different poses in an athletic motion in 1/16th of a second is futile”. Swing away😊

  4. Yup its a rotational twisting motion. Seems to be some vertical at impact but probably not much. I love the pov from above the golfer that shows just how rotational it is. Twisting and turning in place. But golfers swear its a down the line action. The clubhead is down the line for a millisecond. Thats it!!!

  5. Your explanation of breaking the underhand tossing habit of horseshoes is very interesting. However it is difficult to understand the “overhand” with your example of the pitcher because he is very painful to watch and seems to be using a low side arm throw. Any chance you can go into more detail on how you use your overhand in the golf swing? Swing thoughts etc. It seems to be a right hand dominant swing. I also seem to remember your explaining “overhand” a couple of years ago so I’ll go back and look for it.

  6. So, how did Tiger end up tearing up his left knee? I thought that came from locking out his left leg and rotating on it.

  7. Really good tip thanks! I jump in my swing and it’s not good. I’ve just taught myself too to not jump until after I connect with the ball
