Hit the Drives of Your Life With This Simple Head Position Move

Copy this head position and you will hit your driver so much longer! Head position is key, copying this head position will help you to gain more control, stop rolling over the ball, make contact with the centre of the golf club.

Getting the head position is key to hitting the golf ball longer. This is a simple driver tip that will show you exactly how to position your head in the golf swing but also how to hit the golf ball longer! Top 50 world coach Alex Elliott is going to show you the mistakes you are making with your head, this can cause the wrong weight shift, which can mean you rush int the downswing, become unbalanced in the golf swing. You will see in this golf video why the head position is so important.

Lots of golfers ask how to hit driver further, hit the drivers of your life, hit the golf ball on the up, hit the golf ball longer, hit the golf ball further, hit your driver straighter.

  1. Hi Alex. Now that it is winter, and we sometime practice at home (putting), what is your opinion on have one putter you train at home with, and another you use at the course?

  2. Hi Alex, I have a over the top swing, coming out to in on every of my drives…and my face is always closed at impact or more…

I am just starting to understand my problem and the thumbnail of this video is making me wonder should I adress the ball with an slight open face knowing I close it at impact with my natural swing and flick of the wrists?

I will get lessons but I cant solve this path swing alone right now and I am trying to minimize my slice!

    Thank you!

  3. I freaking love this channel. When i go out and play a round i focus on only one thing and one thing only that I "think" I need to work on, based on my last round or two. But ill tell you Alex, your stuff is on point and has never let me down. I would love to get over the pond, from Canada and just play 18 holes and get some real feedback. Keep up the good work. Im sure people are and have picked up some pointers and are doing better overall. Love the channel and wish i could play the awesome courses you have in the U.K.

  4. I struggle mightily with the release of the driver. I've been on simulators to get my numbers, and my path is in-to-out 3-5 degrees, I hit up on the ball 4-7 degrees. Ball forward in the stance, spine tilt, ensure my trail shoulder is back, stronger grip, and try to keep my head behind the ball when I swing. However, I can't seem to get the clubface closed to path with any consistency. When I think about it on course, I tend to overcorrect leading to the low snap hook. Any drill tip/ideas?

  5. Great tip with an EXCELLENT & unusual idea of using the vertical stick & imaginary sheet of glass to get your body
    in the correct position.
I hope I can benefit from this tip to increase my driver distance.
Alex makes it look so easy.

  6. With a permanent black pen marker put a filled in circle diameter about 2 centimetres on the golf ball.
Put ball on tee peg with black circle where your driver strikes the ball.
An easy to see target when you strike the ball.
Also black mark shows up on the face of your driver where you struck the golf ball.
THIS CLEARLY SHOWS WHERE ON THE CLUB FACE YOU MADE CONTACT.
If you have the gummed driver wood impact stickers you can see where you have hit several drives.
It is worth changing the sticker after 4 shots.
I hope the idea will be helpful. I often do it to check my strike.
I think it gives clearer results than using foot spray that leaves a silver coloured deposit.
IF YOU HAVE ANY OTHER GOOD TIPS ALEX MIGHT USE THEM.

  7. I need the snow to melt (I'm in Nebraska) and my back issues to heal a bit more then I am off to play! Can't wait for spring!

  8. Thumbnail not indicative of video content. But the advice given in the content is worth the click 👍🏼

  9. Whoa. Wait. Why didn’t you say in the first place? 😅This video resonated with my swing thought of keeping my left hip inside my left ankle.

  10. Great advice again Alex… works an absolute treat!!! can you point me to any videos on 3 wood, especially off the tee. i currently play off 0.3, but having a nightmare with 3wood at the moment. thanks in advance

  11. great video! thank you. what routine is good for my game? i’m looking for a routine that i can use at the driving range

  12. hi alex have you though of doing a few more POV views as havnt seen anyone else do that before and some might find that useful

  13. Why does the video introscreen never comes back in the video instruction or do I miss something.

  14. Great videos, day after day. Please: more advice on "compressing the ball" and leaving a divot in front of the ball.
