Mizuno STZ230 Hybrid Review. One very PUNCHY Hybrid

Mizuno STZ230 Hybrid Review. One very PUNCHY Hybrid. With change from Wave Technology to the Cortech Chamber, its allowed Mizuno to clean up the sole, add acoustic dampening properties and also addition weight to work alongside the rear weight pad to make the new Hybrid one of the longest Hybrids I have ever tested, but coupled with one of the most pleasant impact sounds to date. Add in Forgiveness and this is one impressive Hybrid.

  1. Does Mizuno plan STX230 FW and hybrids? Need more loft than the STZ230 offers in FW and hybrids.

  2. Great, detailed review of a club that probably won't get much attention from others. Thank you!

  3. Hi Jay Great test and review👍,how would you describe width from face to back (players Rescues tend to be narrow) it looks to have some nice forgiving depth👍, I like the little draw off the toe (it’s a proper Rescue) any chance you could test the more lofted Rescues at a slower swing speed👍,Thanks Jay Mizuno looked to have made massive improvements on the 2023 Drivers, Fairways & Rescues👍Dickey 9hcp 67year senior golfer

  4. Thanks for another great review. 👍🏻
    That’s a seriously hot hybrid.
I think one of them was 1.43 with a 14mm heel strike, I don’t think you’d get that from a driver!
    What Hybrid do you play?

  5. I own the CLK20 in 4,3&2. I spent a lot of range time figuring out these clubs over the last 2 years. The over gearing from the toe is a real thing – once I truly understood that, I began to use it when needed but I became much more focused on bettering my ball-striking and deliberately using healside & toe-side strikes to create the shot-shape I desired – it became a tool for me. I wish Mizuno would have continued to offer the Tensei White Pro 94gram TX Flex with this new offering – the combo created a true pro-like hybrid when played 1-click open – very neutral/mid-flight/flat trajectory. These new hybrids look great – I would say 10 handicap and below – if not lower.

  6. I hooked every hybrid I ever owned so I switched to a 7-wood and love it. In any case Mizuno has clearly upped their game with all these new offerings. I play 223 irons but never really considered the metal woods… until this year. Keep up the great vids!

  7. Now I want to swap my ST-X 220…

Saw a CLK video where Chris V said the adjustment for fade or draw was about controlling the landing, not adjusting for swing faults. Does that work here?

And a question. Hybrids work hard on the deck. TPU is tough, but will it become scuffed?

    Great review again, thanks.

  8. I bought the new JPX 923 Fli-Hi hybrids at 23 and 26 degrees, with the same steel shaft I have in my irons (Modus 105 stiff). They are true iron replacements and I love them and the concept behind steel-shafted hybrids.
