NEW PING G430 Iron Review NOW 10 Yards Longer?

NEW PING G430 Iron Review NOW 10 Yards Longer? well 7-10 yards exactly but still that’s bold claim. Have they cheated and just cranked the lofts so strong that the extra distance is now totally non functional, or have they worked their engineering background magic and kept all the great qualities of G425 but now going Longer?

  1. Brilliant stuff Jay. Really enjoyed it. I game the 921 HM pro but really think I need to give these a hit.

  2. Jay. You are the best tester on YT. Everyone knows that or should know that. You have a pro swing. Zeroing in on this particular club. If it is soooo good why so many misses amongst your first few swings when you were NOT attempting to miss the shot. Bad day swinging? Shaft not to your liking ? Or is it the club itself ? Curious.

  3. How do they compare to the G425? I’m curious about the differences in lofts, since a PW – 5 set in the G425 it’s more like a 45 – 5 in the G430 so that’s one more club to cover a similar range

  4. Great video! Does the G430 sound louder than the i525? I’m a mid handicap golfer considering these two irons. Please let me know which one you prefer overall?

  5. Love to see these against 923 Hot Metals 🏌🏻‍♂️
Love that they changed the number design on the sole of the club they had been using too.

  6. Thanks for the review. In general would a slower club head speed (senior golfer) benefit from an iron with more loft (better launch & higher spin)? This 7 iron is like a 5 iron of old; at the 5, 4 iron how would a ~80 mph swing (with a 7i) achieve needed height?

  7. When I saw the pic of this club I thought Mizuno JPX 900's series. This baby would have to be ridiculously good for me to switch from my JPX 900 Hot Metals. Oh no!!! These are now on the radar. Good stuff thanks. Ping are the leaders when it comings to engineering and the science for clubs. Cool.

  8. At the higher swing speed – 7i height and descent angle, 6i spin rate (which in fairness is as a result of the 6i loft) and 5.5i carry distance, but with really tight dispersion. Difficult to not like.

Sadly when you bring the club head speed down, the inevitable happens, spin rates drop alarmingly. A sub 4500 rpm spin rate with a 7i is not good, barely controllable. 6i would not be controllable, but given its loft it is probably the longest iron an average speed golfer should carry in the G430. But even at the slower swing speed, the club was incredibly consistent in carry.

Overall a very good club, a worthy replacement for the G425.

  9. Fantastic review for golfers of different swing speeds. Keep up the good work!

  10. Hi Jay Great review👍, Brilliant to see your senior swing speed of 77mph👌,mines 67mph (when i am flushing it), T300 7iron, great comment about going to a Rescue with the next club, mines a Rescue 6(28deg) Stealth, give’s me perfect gapping👍, the Ping G430s look so much better than the 425s, & perform super in your test, think the PW at 41deg is 2deg’s too strong🤔, Great review Jay👍, Thanks Dickey 9hcp 75year Senior Golfer

  11. Just curious 77 mph would be male average 7 iron swing speed equivalent to about 94 mph driver rather than a senior 7 iron swing speed which should be considerably slower or do I have that wrong

  12. I’m recovering from an ACL injury since July but once I’m OK I’m looking to change my second hand G10 irons for my first ever custom fitted irons. Our pro told me to wait until my knee is fixed and also wait for the G430 because the data he had received was very impressive. Dead right! Great video, first time watcher but I’ve now subscribed. Thank you.
