I do this as well, but I will also move the ball back open the face and "throw" the clubhead almost trying to pass my hands. Gives me a ton of speed at the ball and ball back means lower trajectory. This is how I hit my skipper that stops real fast.
What degree of clubs were you using and what distance from the pin?
