  1. Oooh liking this video. I wonder how many times I'll watch it 😂 Coach has I pretty cool name too 😉

  2. Next level stuff right there lads. I too have embarked on a winter swing deep dive journey and much of what was chatted about on Ian's swing is what I have as feels as well. More width going back to create space for me to drop back in….. all while rotating low/left to keep the hands from flipping while face path remains square as long as possible. I'm totally geeking out on it right now so keep this kind of content coming. Lovin' it from Calgary.

  3. This is amazing! Happy New Year guys. A proper aha moment with how the arm squeezed against the chest and how high up the the arm is in the downswing, in relation the chest. Can cause tilting. Really looking forward to what this series has coming up. Great effort again guys with the content 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

  4. A question I would like to ask about this swing technique is what would the possible correction be for having an open face to path. This is what I have been working on myself and I have a 3-4 degree in to out path but I tend to have a face that is 10 degrees open, unless is feel like im flipping then the path closes up because of that.

  5. Ian, to make the arms work correctly in the downswing, does it feel like the hands are working down and away from the ball as you begin to turn?

  6. This video is exactly what I have been blindly working towards!! having it broken down has given me answers to the questions I’ve been tinkering with!!

  7. Seatbelt! I love the analogy! I will definitely try this when i get out in the range!

  8. Great video but please tell Scott that we in the medical field never use the term “dorsiflexion” of the wrist. It’s “extension” of the wrist. Dorsiflexion is commonly used for the ankle.

  9. My lead arm tends to get to addicted across my chest and then gets stuck leading to a feeling of the right arm being late and hit massive blocks. Maybe I’m adducting too early. Any thoughts would be massively appreciated Scott

  10. WOW! Great video…this is exactly what I’m currently working on…as someone with a very flat swing to begin with being a former hockey player, I’ve spent years trying to get a more upright swing, only to run into inconsistency. So, we’re back to the flatter swing and working on exactly this right now…finding it much more compatible with my body…I’ve had both hips replaced and suffer from degenerative back disease. So, this is more of a rotational swing instead of a separation between the upper and lower back that feels better for me…my swing speed is nowhere near Ians (80mph with an 8 iron), but still works.

  11. Interesting stuff – I’m struggling to understand why this is Rory’s release pattern, when you see him practicing firing his arms down hard and aggressively on the range (ie you could say he is practicing almost the opposite of pinning his arm to his chest) 🤷‍♂️

  12. Unless you are telling me what to do with the instrument, golf club, I will tune out quickly. 99% of his instruction is what his body is doing.

  13. The guy knows his stuff about the swing but I can't help thinking he is using larger words than necessary…

  14. Great Content! Swing and player improvement is why I joined the channel so many moons ago. Great instruction…Love it guys👏🏻

  15. This instruction is the best I’ve seen yet, can’t wait for more. This upperbody arm action is everything

  16. Incredible distances from generating effortless power. Ian doesn’t look like he is swinging hard and yet the ball speeds are high.

  17. Lang may yer lum reek!!! Great Video to start the year. Would creating the space taking the club back more outside and loading it with more depth prevent getting stuck on the downswing?

  18. Great stuff!
Admittedly I'm terrified of trying any of this stuff without a hands-on instructor to keep me on the rails. But I like the feel of dragging the lead arm down to begin the transition

  19. I'm very right side feel dominant. When he was talking through elephant trunk and saying to feel the left bicep rub down the chest. Wow, light bulb

  20. I know this swing is more natural for you but id love to hear what the release feels like or SHOULD feel like with this swing thought.
