Don't Turn Your Shoulders for a Driver Golf Swing

Don’t turn your shoulders in the golf swing if you want to hit driver longer. Golfer’s make this mistake all the time and you won’t just lose distance you will struggle to hit driver straight.

In this golf lesson Danny Maude reveals exactly how the shoulders work in the golf backswing AND downswing. Improving how you rotate in the golf swing enables you to do two things:

1. Store energy in the backswing
2. Release that energy at the perfect time at impact

What you will enjoy about these simple golf tips is they can be taken straight to the course because Danny will help you feel and visualise the perfect golf swing.

ABOUT DANNY
———————–
Thanks for stopping by. I created this website as a resource just for you to support you on your golfing journey as I know how tricky learning this game can be…to say the least!

I personally found learning the game too long and difficult in the early days. I read all the books, watched all the videos but my game was not improving. Then after studying various forms of neuro science, motor learning, psychology and personal development in less than two years I went from struggling golfer to the final stage of the Open Championship.

On YouTube and my personal website (www.dannymaude.com) I will bring you the most up to date training, training that is getting tangible results for my clients right now. I don’t know where you are in your golfing journey, you could be just starting out or maybe your body isn’t as flexible as it once was or you’ve got ambitions to slash your handicap. Wherever you are I’ve created a place here you can learn, share your ideas, ask questions and get all the support you need to enjoy this great game.

Be prepared though. If its a quick fix you are after Im not your man. Here I will give you step-by-step advice that you can take straight to the practice ground and apply to the course but it will require you to get stuck in, screw up…a lot, practice some more and then watch those scores tumble

I’ve had the pleasure of coaching thousands of students all around the world and if you are up for the challenge and are ready to get in the game…LETS GO TO WORK!

2. How to swing more in to out or how to swing more inside out
3, How to get the correct impact position with driver

  1. Next range session, I'm watching this on repeat! Such a simple but effective visualisation. Thanks Danny!

  2. Another great video thanks Danny, think I am probably guilty of trying not to move my head. Looking forward to see this free things up 👍🏻

  3. Simple, concise and very easy to follow. Great work as usual Danny. Been struggling getting stuck on the inside with driver mostly so this is a great visual I'll definitely give it a try 👍🏼

  4. Good one again Danny. Just moved house so painting and repairs needed to be sorted out. Back to the course this week so thanks for the driver lesson as I am sure to be a little rusty.

  5. This is exactly what I’ve been working on recently. I was swinging too vertically and my release was like the one you demonstrated which ended up in a slice. Since I’ve really concentrated on setup, swing plane (which now feels almost horizontal compared to the old one) and better release of the club, I can hit draws or fades on demand and sometime even straight! 😂. Distance has consistently been 20-30 yards further too now that the ball isn’t spinning like crazy. Great video Danny, will be watching it on repeat this week.

  6. Had the good fortune to have a lesson with Danny last week. It was excellent. In one hour he improved both my driver and fairway wood distance and consistency. Now it’s up to me to practice what I learned. Excellent lesson.

  7. Seems to work well but my carpets are wet through and the walls splattered with paint… bit messy lesson

  8. Hey Danny, In our backswing how should our front knee be moving? Sometimes I feel it pointed forward and as I go into my backswing it simply moves forward over my toes while still pointing mostly forward. Other times I feel my knee rotating and changing direction with the rotation of my backswing. I notice that causes more weight on my rear foot, which usually gives me poor contact.

  9. Bin begeistert von der Klarheit und Umsetzbarkeit in deiner Video Tipps! Vielen Dank auch aus Germany!

  10. This seems an excellent guide as to how to achieve what we golfers strive for. I have found recently that having a little more weight on the lead foot at setup helps before I commence the backswing. Then I try to get my weight shifted back onto the lead side before I commence the downswing, while keeping centred over the ball throughout. There is a lot to master before one achieves consistency, but Danny's guides always help to explain the essentials.

  11. Thanks Danny another great lesson, do you have a lesson on swing speed as my driver speed varies from around 125 – 130mph, should I be focusing on this. As I find when my swing is at 130mph my distance increases, however I never have a consistent swing speed. Merry Christmas and keep lessons coming.👏👏👏👏

  12. Best lesson I have sent in ages. Looking forward to temperatures rising from -6 in northern England so I can try this out at the range. Thanks Danny
