  1. I'm sure Ian changed putters when this video got done filming. Changes clubs more than anyone and then wonders why he isn't playing consistantly.

  2. Nice follow up to the Quintic putter fitting videos a few months back. Would increase my confidence in purchasing a putter if this was part of the fitting – regardless of OEM.

  3. Maybe I missed it, but there was no discussion of how head shape and different sight aids effect aiming bias. This fitting seemed to be "Here, which of these off-the-rack putters do you hit best, according to the machine." Contrast this to an Edel Golf putter fitting which is significantly more comprehensive and which takes things like aim bias into account. The player also walks away with a truly customized putter fit to them (note that I have no affiliation whatsoever with Edel). In reality, Odyssey are only going to do that for their Tour players. Of course, this process is better than nothing, but I would question the extent to which it "raises the bar" on fitting.

  4. why not try different lofts on the gamer? at the end of the day, go with what works best, but sometimes with a putter fitting that close, on the course it could be a different story because of feel off putter face/weight and other variables. Test it outside and see if results work, otherwise go back to gamer and maybe make some tweaks on that.

  5. The Ping putter fitting TXG posted a few days ago had a process. A true process. This seemed far more random. I would have been disappointed if I paid for this "experience".

  6. Someone else commented it and I agree too. Would the same results have been achieved by decreasing the loft on the gamer? The backspin and high launch seemed to be a function of excess loft, not the putter itself. The putter they fitted you with happened to be a very similar to your non Odyssey one. I'm not hating here, I'm just all for maximizing existing equipment.

  7. Reckon Ian should have gone to see Chris Dennis first. Could have done a fitting and had a lesson at the same time rather than looking at just equipment.
