I also often have the problem of hitting the ground first, then the ball. This often happens when I'm focused on the ball, but if I aim my gaze 2 inches from the ball I hit the ball much better, but I'd rather be able to see the ball and still hit well than aiming for a point that's 2 inches from the ball another factor for that is of course my early release.
Have you ever been on any tours or entered any tournaments? You should, because your swing and strategies about golf, are second to none!!

At the top of the backswing a lot of pga players have the weight in the trail foot. Can you talk more about the differences between these approaches?

Man you just pointed out what I do . #2 . I know I am shifting forward now but I keep hitting behind the ball . When I watch my video I can clearly see that my right shoulder is back . Thank JKM . I will work on it .
Great information for the normal player. As disabled golfer that plays from a seated position and has limited hip rotation some of these ideas are more difficult. Any thoughts for a player that uses a SoloRider golf cart when playing? thanks glen

Highly recommend getting a DST training 8 iron to work on getting forward shaft lean thru impact. Joh Rahm uses one as a warm-up tool all the time. Same for Henrik Stenson. Check DST out on YouTube
